- On January 1, 2025, Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra assumed command of the Indian Air Force’s (IAF) Western Air Command, succeeding Air Marshal Pankaj Mohan Sinha, who retired after over 39 years of distinguished service.
About Air Marshal Jeetendra Mishra:
He is a fighter pilot with over 3,000 hours of flying experience and is also a test pilot.
He was commissioned as a fighter pilot on December 6, 1986.
He is a graduate of theNational Defence Academy in Pune,the Air Force Test Pilots School in Bangalore, the Air Command and Staff College in the United States, and the Royal College of Defence Studies in the United Kingdom.
He is an expert as a Fighter Combat Leader and an experimental Test Pilot.
