Why in the news?

• Chief Minister Mohan Yadav inaugurated the 42nd National Senior Rowing Championship at Madhya Pradesh State Water Sports Academy, located on the Upper Lake in the city.

Important points:

• More than 500 players from all over the country are participating in the championship.
•  A total of 27 teams from across the country including 23 states and of the Indian Army, Indian Navy, Indian Air Force and Services Sports Control Board are participating in the competition.
