AGNIVEER VAYU INTAKE 2023 RECRUITMENT:

The Indian Air Force has released a recruitment notification for the Agniveervayu Intake. The application link for the Agniveervayu Intake will be activated from the 7th of November 2022 for male and female candidates. The Indian Air Force has undergone such a significant change. Now, female candidates are also eligible to apply for the same. The online examination will be conducted from January 18 to 24, 2023. 

About Indian Air Force 

The air wing of the Indian Armed Forces is known as the Indian Air Force (IAF). Its personnel and aircraft inventory ranks third among the world's air forces. Its main duties include conducting aerial combat during armed conflict and protecting Indian airspace.

APPLICATION PROCESS FOR AGNIVEER VAYU INTAKE 2023:

  1. Firstly visit the official website of the IAF

  2. Now on the homepage, you will get a link to register for the Agniveer Vayu intake 2023.

  3. Start the Indian Air Force Agniveer Vacancy 2023 application process by entering your contact information, such as name, phone number, and email address.

  4. Upload your photograph and signature in the prescribed format.

  5. Pay your application fee using one of the available online payment methods, such as a credit card, debit card, or net banking.

  6. Now click on submit button. You can successfully submit your application after paying the exam price.

AGNIVEER VAYU INTAKE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Nationality

Nationality Should be either Indian or a Nepalese Citizen.

Age Limit

1. Candidate born between 27 June 2002 and 27 December 2005 (both dates inclusive) are eligible to apply. 

2. In case, a candidate clears all the stages of the Selection Procedure, then the upper age limit as on date of enrolment should be 21 years. 

Marital Status

  • Only unmarried Indian male and female candidates are eligible to join the IAF as Agniveervayu. At the time of enrollment, candidates must provide proof of being "unmarried." 

  • Agniveervayu will be barred from marrying for the duration of their four-year service in the IAF. A candidate may be dismissed from service if he or she marries during his or her tenure or is discovered to be already married despite providing a certificate stating that he or she is "unmarried."

Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering (Mechanical / Electrical / Electronics / Automobile / Computer Science / Instrumentation Technology / Information Technology) from a Government recognized Polytechnic institute with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in diploma course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course). 

OR 

Passed Two years Vocational course with non-vocational subject viz. Physics and Mathematics from State Education Boards / Councils which are listed in COBSE with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course (or in Intermediate / Matriculation, if English is not a subject in vocational course).

Other than Science Subjects

Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Passed two years’ vocational course from Education Boards listed as COBSE member with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English in vocational course or in Intermediate / Matriculation if English is not a subject in Vocational Course.

Note - 1: Candidate eligible for the Science Subjects examination (Including Intermediate / 10+2 / three years’ diploma course in engineering or two years’ vocational course with non-vocational subjects of Physics and Maths) are also eligible for Other than Science Subjects and would be given an option of appearing in both Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects examination in one sitting while filling up the online registration form. Note - 2: Education Boards listed in Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) website (cobse.org.in) as members, as on date of registration shall only be considered. 

Note - 3: Exact aggregate Percentage of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2 / Intermediate / Equivalent Examination / Three years Diploma Course / Two years Vocational Course OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board/ Polytechnic Institute shall only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).

PHYSICAL / MEDICAL STANDARDS

To get selected as an Agniveervayu, the candidate must be physically and mentally fit to perform duties in any part of the world, climate and terrain. Physical/ medical standards to become an Agniveervayu are as follows:-

Minimum acceptable height is 152.5 cms (For Male candidates) and 152 cms (For Female candidates).

Weight

Weight should be proportionate to height and age as applicable for IAF.

Chest

For male candidate’s minimum chest circumference will be 77 cms and the chest expansion should be at least 5 cms. For female candidates the chest wall should be well proportioned with minimum range of expansion of 5 cms. 

Hearing

Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters by each ear separately. 

Dental

Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points

General Health

Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from any active or latent, acute or chronic, medical or surgical disability or communicable diseases, infection and skin ailments. Candidate shall be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.

Note:

  1. Candidates are advised to get tartar and stains removed from their teeth before appearing for the medical examination. Ears should be free of wax. Candidates should be prepared to stay for the medical test for four to five days under their own arrangement. No TA/ DA shall be admissible.

  2. Passing in the medical examination is not a guarantee for employment in Indian Air Force.

Body Tattoo

Permanent body tattoo are not permitted, however tattoos only on inner face of the fore arms (inside of elbow to the wrist), back (dorsal) part of the hand/ reverse side of the palm and Tribals with tattoo which are as per the custom traditions of their tribes may be considered. However, right to decide on acceptability/ unacceptability of the individual rests with the Selection Centre. Candidates with permanent body tattoos are to submit two photographs (close up and distinct view) with details of size and type of the tattoo.

AGNIVEER VAYU INTAKE SELECTION PROCESS 2023:

The selection process consists of 3 phases which are explained below:-

Phase-I

Online Written Test: Soon after the Phase-I (Online) Test results are announced, a cut-off will be applied based on the marks earned by the candidates in the Phase-I Test, and SHORTLISTED candidates will be sent a new admit card via email to their registered e-mail addresses for the Phase-II test at a designated ASC.

Phase-I

The very first step is to hire as an Agniveer, you have to pass the written test. The written test for science students and non-science students is different. For a clear understanding, we have detailed the exam pattern below:-

1. Science students

  • The questions will be asked from three subjects i.e. Maths, English and Physics. 

  • The examination will be conducted for 60 minutes.

  • One mark will be rewarded for the right answer and 0.25 marks will be deducted for wrong each wrong answer.

Phase-II

Physical Fitness Test (PFT)

Shortlisted candidates shall be called at designated ASC for Physical Fitness Test (PFT) which would consist of 1.6 Km run to be completed within Seven minutes (For male candidates) and Eight minutes (For female candidates). Male candidates shall also have to complete 10 Push-ups, 10 Sit-ups and 20 Squats within the stipulated time as per the following to qualify in the Physical Fitness Test.

Adaptability Test- I.

All candidates who pass the Physical Fitness Test (PFT) shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-I (objective type written test) which is to assess suitability of a candidate for employment in the IAF which involves deployment in varied geographic terrain, weather and operational conditions.

Adaptability Test-II

All candidates who pass Adaptability Test-I shall have to undertake Adaptability Test-II as per policy in vogue. Adaptability Test-II is to select candidates who can adapt to the environment of the Indian Air Force and are able to adjust to the military way of life.

Phase-III

MEDICAL EXAMINATION

Medical examination shall be conducted by Air Force Medical Team as per IAF medical standards and policy in vogue on subject issue. Medical examination would also include Baseline Investigation of the following:-

  • Blood Haemogram - Hb, TLC, DLC

  • Urine RE/ME

  • Biochemistry:-


    • Blood Sugar Fasting & PP

    • Serum Cholesterol

    • Urea, Uric acid, Creatinine

    • LFT—Serum Bilirubin, SGOT, SGPT.

  • X-Ray chest (PA view)

  • ECG (R)

  • Tests for Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substance Abuse.

  • Any other test necessary in the opinion of the Medical Officer.

  • Candidates declared medically unfit can avail the option for ‘Appeal Medical Board’ (AMB) against their unfitness by depositing Rs. 40/- in a Government Treasury/RBI/SBI through an Electronic Military Receivable Order/ Military Receivable Order (e MRO/ MRO)

  • The application for AMB along with an original copy of e-MRO/ MRO, and photocopy of Unfitness Certificate are to be submitted to the representative of ASC within three working days of medical examination.

The recruitment medical officer and the specialist doctors of the Armed Forces are the final authorities on declaring a candidate fit or unfit during the initial medical examination, appeal medical board and medical examination prior to enrolment.

The candidates shall be governed by Armed Forces standards which may be a variance from civil standards. There is no provision for representation or review after the appeal medical board.

AGNIVEER VAYU INTAKE SALARY:

Agniveervayu enrolled under this Scheme will be paid an Agniveervayu package of ₹ 30,000/- per month with a fixed yearly increment. In addition, Risk and Hardship allowances (as applicable in IAF), Dress and Travel allowances will be paid.

  1. Terminal Benefits-Seva Nidhi Package. As brought out at Para 20 (b), Agniveervayu will be given one-time Seva Nidhi package comprising their monthly contribution along with matching contribution by the Government on completion of their engagement period, as indicated below:-

Note 1: Agniveervayu will not be required to contribute to any Provident Fund of the Government.
Note 2: There shall be no entitlement to any gratuity and any kind of pensionary benefits in the case of Agniveervayu.

  1. Leave. Grant of leave will be subject to exigencies of the organization. The following leave may be applicable for Agniveervayu during their engagement period:-


    1. Annual Leave. 30 days per year.

    2. Sick Leave. Based on medical Advice.

  2. Medical and CSD Facilities. For the duration of their engagement period in IAF, Agniveervayu will be entitled for medical facility at Service Hospitals as well as CSD provisions.

  3. Life insurance cover. Agniveervayu will be provided non-contributory life insurance cover of ₹ 48 lakhs for the duration of their engagement period as Agniveervayu in IAF and they will not be eligible for Air Force Group Insurance Fund (AFGIS) schemes/ benefits.

  4. Compensation for Death. Agniveervayu will not be governed by provisions contained in the Pension Regulations/ Rules for IAF(as amended from time to time). In case of death, the following will be admissible to Next of Kin (NOK) from the Agniveer Corpus Fund:-


    1. Insurance cover as applicable (as per para 23 above).

    2. All other compensation as per details placed at para 28 below.

  5. Categorisation of Death. The death for the purpose of provision of financial benefits to Agniveervayu will be categorised as follows:-


    1. Category X. Death due to natural causes neither attributable to nor aggravated by military service during the engagement period.

    2. Category Y. Death due to causes which are accepted as attributable to or aggravated by military service or due to accidents/ mishaps in the performance of duties including training during the engagement period.

    3. Category Z. During the engagement period, death due to acts of violence/attack by terrorists, anti-social elements, enemy, during border skirmishes/war/ peacekeeping operations/ aid to civil power, etc; and during operational preparation and training for war including battle inoculation training/ exercise; and accidental deaths due to natural calamities/ operations specially notified by the Govt, etc.

  6. Compensation for Disability. In case an individual is placed in the Permanent Low Medical Category (LMC), the authorities will assess the compensation based on percentage of disability and attributability. The extent of disability or functional incapacity shall be determined in the following manner for the purpose of computing the disability compensation:-

A. As per the official information by the IAF and based on organisational requirements and policies promulgated by the Armed Forces, 100% of Agniveers will be offered the opportunity to apply for enrolment in the permanent cadre after completing their engagement period (4 Years). A. The result of the Agniveer Vayu Intake 2023 examination will be tentatively declared in the mid of February 2023.
