1. 11th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship

  •  Hockey Punjab  defeated   Hockey Uttar Pradesh 2-1 to clinch the 11th Hockey India Senior Men National Championship.
  • The   tournament was  held at Pimpri Chinchwad , Pune from 11 to 21 December.
  • Karnataka defeated Maharashtra 5-2 to finish third .
  • Hockey India plans, directs and conducts all the activities for both men and women hockey in India. It is recognized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Govt. of India as the sole body responsible towards promoting Hockey in India.

2. Pankaj Advani defends the National Billiards Champion title

  • Pankaj Arjan Advani of Petroleum Sports Promotion Board ,won the Senior National Billiards Championship by defeating his teammate  Dhruv Sitwale.
  • It was the 11th National Billiards title of Pankaj Advani. 
  • The 88th National Billiards Championship was held at Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
  • The Championship was organized by the Billiards and Snooker Federation of India (BSFI), the governing body for cue sports in India.

3. Kyle Win Silver in Rotax Karting Grand Finals

  • Peregrine Racing's Kyle Aditya Kumaran won the silver trophy at the Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals, the annual Karting competition for Rotax National champions from over 100 countries around the world.
  • The Karting competition concluded at Sakhir, Bahrain on December 18.
  • Kart racing or karting is a variant of motorsport road racing with open-wheel, four-wheeled vehicles known as go-karts or shifter karts. They are usually raced on scaled-down circuits.

4. BWF Badminton World Championship

  • Kidambi Srikanth’s fine run in the BWF World badminton Championship ended with a silver-medal finish after he lost the men’s singles summit clash to Singapore’s Loh Kean Yew.
  • Srikanth etched his name in the history books by becoming the first Indian man to reach the finals of the championships.
  • The 2021 BWF World Championship began on 12th December and ended on 19th December.
  • It was a badminton championship which took place at Palacio de los Deportes Carolina Marin in Huelva, Spain.

5. Sulayem became the first non-European president of motorsport’s governing body FIA.

  • The South Africa and Nation Building commission was set up by the Cricket South Africa to investigate the issue of racism in South African cricket.

7. Indian team wins Bridge Championship

  • The Indian team of Sumit Mukherjee, Jaggy Shivdasani, Keyzad Ankelsaria, Sundeep Thakral, Rajeswar Tewari and Debabrata Majumder defeated the United Arab Emirate (UAE) side to win the Asia and Middle East Bridge Championship title.
  • It was held at NOIDA, Uttar Pradesh.
  • Both the countries have qualified for the upcoming World Bridge Championship to be held in Italy from March 27 to April 10, 2022.

8. India to host u-18 and u-19 SAFF Championship 2022

All India Football Federation (AIFF) announced that India will host the Under-18 Women’s Championship 2022 in March and Under-19 Women’s Championship 2022 in July-August.

  • The SAFF U-18 Women's Championship will begin on March 3 while the final is slated to take place on March 14, 2022.
  • The five teams (Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and hosts Indiaface each other once in a round-robin format, before the top two places square off for the final.
  • Meanwhile, SAFF U-19 Women’s Championship will commence on July 25, with the final set to take place on August 3, 2022.
  • A total of six teams - Bangladesh, Bhutan, Maldives, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and hosts India are set to participate in the tournament.

SAFF u-18 Women’s Championship:

The SAFF U-18 Women's Championship is an association football tournament for women's national teams under the age of 18.

  • There are a total 7 teams, out of which Bangladesh is the most successful team.
  • Participating Nations: Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Maldives, Pakistan and Sri Lanka.

9. VVS Lakshman takes charge as NCA Head

Former India batter VVS Lakshman took charge as the new Head of National Cricket Academy (NCA) on 14th December 2021.

  • Laxman has occupied the position that was vacated by former India captain Rahul Dravid, who began his tenure as head coach of the national men’s team with the commencement of the home series against New Zealand.

SFFI   Medal :   legendary cricketer Sunil Gavaskar.

SJFI Sportsman of the Year award :  Tokyo Olympics gold medalist ,Javelin Thrower Neeraj Chopra,.

SJFI Sportswoman of the Year:  Tokyo Olympics Silver Medal winner ,weightlifter Mirabai Chanu.

SJFI Team of the Year: The Indian men's team which won the hockey bronze in the Tokyo Olympics.

SJFI   Men Parathletes of the Year: Sumit Antil and Pramod Bhagat.

Both won Gold medals at the Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Sumit Antil in Javelin throw and  Pramod Bhagat in Badminton.  SJFI Women SJFI Parathlete of the Year :   Tokyo Olympics Gold medal winner in shooting.
