SSC Postponed all exams including CHSL, CGL, JE Exam 2020 amid COVID – 19 Lockdown

In a recent notification, SSC has officially announced that “The Staff Selection Commission” has postponed all the exams that were scheduled to be conducted in the near future amidst the COVID – 19 (Corona Virus Disease -2019) Pandemic that the resultant lockdown. The postponed exams include SSC JE Paper I 2019, SSC CHSL 2019 Tier I, SSC Stenographer Grade C & D 2019, and other remaining exams only after complete lifting of Lockdown situation.


The Commission has been noted that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has divided the entire country into 3 different zones as red, orange and green zones because of the spread of COVID – 19 Pandemic. And that the lockdown restrictions have been extended upto 17-05-2020. Furthermore, The decision to postpone the exams was due to the lockdown extension because the Union health ministry has split 130 districts across India including all metropolitan cities (Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and Ahmedabad) into the ‘no activity’ zone as the lockdown was extended by two weeks beyond 04-05-2020.


Reckon with this, the Staff Selection Commission has decided that the schedules of Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level (Tier-I) 2019 (for remaining aspirants), Junior Engineer (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical & Quantity Surveying and Contract) (Paper-I) exam 2019, Stenographer Grade C & D 2019-20 and CHSL 2018 Skill Test (Phase – III) will be announced only after complete lifting of restrictions of lockdown including restrictions on travel by road/train or air etc.


The official notice stated, the Commission will review SSC annual calendar of all other exams will be reviewed in light of the decision of the Government with regard to the lifting of restrictions of lockdown.

Staff Selection Commission will conduct its next meeting on 10-05-2020 to review the situation. And the date of all the postponed examinations will be announced at least one month in advance for the convenience of the aspirants.
