SSC CHSL RECRUITMENT 2023
The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently released an official notification on 9th May 2023, announcing the commencement of the Combined Higher Secondary (10+2) Level Examination, 2022. This competitive examination is being conducted by the SSC for the recruitment of Group C positions, including Lower Divisional Clerk/Junior Secretariat Assistant and Data Entry Operators, in various Ministries/Departments/Offices of the Government of India, as well as various Constitutional Bodies/Statutory Bodies/Tribunals, etc.
Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria are invited to submit their applications online from 9th May 2023 to 8th June 2023. It is strongly recommended that individuals interested in applying for the examination carefully read the SSC CHSL Notification 2023. This notification contains comprehensive details about the examination that applicants should familiarize themselves with before proceeding with their application.

KNOW THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR SSC CHSL
Nationality
A candidate must be either:
(a) a citizen of India, or
(b) a subject of Nepal, or
(c) a subject of Bhutan, or
(d) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania(Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c) and (d) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the Examination but the offer of appointment will be given only after, the necessary eligibility certificate has been issued to him (hereinafter may be read as ‘him/ her’) by the Government of India.
Age Limit
Candidates applying for the posts should be between 18 and 27 years of age, meaning their birth dates should fall between 02-08-1996 and 01-08-2005. Special categories are eligible for age relaxation, and the specifics are presented in the table below:

CHECK APPLICATION PROCESS OF SSC CHSL 2023
The online application process for the examination is divided into two parts:
I. One-Time Registration
II. Filling out an online examination application
Visit the official website of the Staff Selection Commission.
For One-Time Registration, click on the ‘Register Now’ link provided in ‘Login’ Section and fill out your basic details.
On the SSC homepage, you have to login by entering your login credentials and captcha code which were sent to your email after registration.
After logging in, go to the Apply Now tab, then select the SSC CHSL 2023 under the exams tab.
The SSC CHSL Exam Application Form will appear on the screen; complete it with the necessary information and select your exam site.
Check the information carefully two or three times after entering it because SSC will not accept modifications made after the final submission.
Read the ‘Declaration’ carefully, if you agree with the declaration, click ‘I Agree’.
Upload your photo and signature in accordance with SSC requirements.
For final submission submit the required application fee and then take a printout of your final submission.

Note:
Candidates have the option to pay the fee online using BHIM UPI, Net Banking, or by using Visa, MasterCard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. Alternatively, they can make the payment in cash at SBI Branches by generating an SBI Challan.
For online payments, candidates can pay the fee until 10-06-2023 (23:00 hours). However, if candidates choose to make a cash payment using the SBI Challan, they must do so at an SBI Branch within the working hours of the bank until 12-06-2023. It is important to note that the challan must be generated by the candidates before 11-06-2023 (23:00 hours) to be eligible for cash payment at an SBI Branch.
SELECTION PROCESS OF SSC CHSL 2023
The selection process for candidates will involve a Computer-based examination conducted in two tiers. The Computer-based Examination will be conducted in multiple shifts, and the marks obtained by candidates will be normalized. The normalized scores of candidates will be considered to determine the merit and final selection. Further details regarding this process are provided below:-
Tier 1 (Computer-Based Examination)
The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only.
The questions will be set in English and Hindi.
There will be a negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.
Tier 2
(a) (Computer-Based Examination)
It will be mandatory for the candidates to qualify for all the sections of Tier II.
Tier-II will be conducted in two sessions - Session –I & Session-II, on same day. Session-I will include conducting of Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III. Session-II will include conducting of Module-II of Section-III.
Tier-II will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions, except for Module II of Section III.
The questions will be set in English and Hindi except for Module II (i.e. English Language and Comprehension module) in Section II.
There will be a negative marking of 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section-II and Module-I of Section-III.
Module-I of Section-III i.e. Computer Knowledge Test is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
(b) Skill Test/ Typing Test
Module-II of Section-III will include conducting of Skill Test/ Typing Test in Session-II on the same day.
Skill Test/ Typing Test will be of qualifying nature.
Errors in the Skill Test will be calculated up to 2 decimal places.
Document Verification
Candidates will have to submit copies of various documents as given below at the time of Document Verification by the User Departments/ Organizations:
Matriculation/ Secondary Certificate.
Educational Qualification Certificate.
Order/ letter in respect of equivalent Educational Qualifications claimed, indicating the Authority (with number and date) under which it has been so treated, in respect of equivalent clause in Essential Qualifications, if a candidate is claiming a particular qualification as an equivalent qualification.
Caste/ Category Certificate, if belongs to reserved categories.
Persons with Disabilities Certificate in the required format, if applicable.
(a) For Ex-Servicemen (ESM):

Part A - Skill Test for the post of DEO/ DEO Grade 'A
In Department/ Ministry
The 'speed of 15000 (Fifteen Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 3700-4000 key depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer. The passage to be entered in the computer may also be displayed on the computer screen.

‘Data Entry Speed of 8,000 (Eight Thousand) Key Depressions per hour on Computer’ will be adjudged on the basis of the correct entry of words/ key depressions as per the given passage. The duration of the Test will be 15 (Fifteen) minutes and printed matter in English containing about 2000-2200 key depressions would be given to each candidate who would enter the same in the Computer. The passage to be entered in the Computer may also be displayed on the computer screen.
Part B - Typing Test for other posts i.e. LDC/ JSA
The medium of Typing Test will be Hindi or English. The candidates will have to opt for the medium of Typing Test (i.e. either Hindi or English) in the online Application Form.
The choice of Typing Test given by the candidate in the online Application Form shall be treated as final and no change in the medium of Typing Test will be entertained later.
Candidates opting for English medium should have typing speed of 35 words per minute (w.p.m.) and those opting for Hindi medium should have typing speed of 30 words per minute (w.p.m.). 35 w.p.m. and 30 w.p.m. correspond to about 10500 key depressions per hour and about 9000 key depressions per hour respectively.
The speed will be adjudged on the accuracy of typing on the Computer of a given text passage in 10 minutes.
MINIMUM QUALIFYING MARKS
Minimum qualifying marks in Tier-I, Section-I, Section-II & Module-I of Section III of Tier-II Examination are as follows:
UR : 30%
OBC/ EWS : 25%
All other categories : 20%
Note:- Candidates will be shortlisted for Tier-II Examination on the basis of their performance in Tier-I Examination. Normalized scores of candidates will be used to determine merit and for final selection.

POST PREFERENCES
This examination is being conducted for multiple posts in various Ministries/Departments/Offices. Candidates will have the opportunity to express their preferences for different posts and departments through the Online Option Form available on the Commission's website before the final result is declared. It is important to note that a candidate will only be considered for a specific Post and Ministry/Department/Organization if they have indicated their preference for it. Once the options are submitted, they will be considered final and cannot be changed under any circumstances. Therefore, candidates are advised to exercise caution and careful consideration when making their choices.
