UPPCL: AT A GLANCE

As per the notice issued by the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited on 8th September 2022, the commission has extended the application date for the examination of Executive Assistant. Earlier,  the commission  has released a notification on its official website on 3rd August 2022 for the recruitment of Executive Assistant posts. The exam for this recruitment will be held in the month of October. Against 1273 vacancies, candidates can apply from 19 August to 27 September 2022.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

  1. Nationality 

Candidate must be a citizen of India to become eligible for the post advertised through this notification.

  1. Age 

Candidate's age should be between 21 years to 40 years as on 1st January 2022.

Permissible Age Relaxation: 

(a) SC, ST, OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and Freedom Fighter dependent category candidates, who are the original residents of Uttar Pradesh, will be allowed 05 years of relaxation in the upper age limit. 

(b) Relaxation in the upper age limit would be permissible for Ex-Servicemen (as defined in the Government Order of Uttar Pradesh and who have rendered at least 05 years of service in the Army) by adding three years to the period of complete years of service rendered by them in the Army.. 

(c) Relaxation of 15 years will be admissible in the upper age limit to the handicapped candidates.

  1. Character Certificate 

(a) It shall be the duty of the appointing authority to get the character and antecedents of the candidate verified through the police but in no case, the work of verification should be left to the completion of the probationary period. Anytime in the middle of service, if he is reported to be adverse to the good character by the police, he will not be allowed to continue in service and his services will be terminated without any notice, compensation or pay.

(b) The candidate will have to produce a character certificate issued by the head of the last educational institution/university.

(c) The candidate will also have to produce a certificate of good character from two elite persons of that area who are not related to the candidate.

  1. Health Certificate

Every candidate, who is found suitable for appointment on the basis of the result of a competitive examination, before joining the service, a certificate of mental and physical fitness shall be issued by, the Chief Medical Officer/Deputy Chief Medical Officer of the district Corporation has authorized in this behalf or any such medical officer as may be prescribed. 

  1. Marital Status 

No male candidate shall be eligible for appointment to a post in the Service who has more than one wife living or a female candidate who has entered into or contracted a marriage with a man who already has a wife, provided that the Board of Directors shall allow any such candidate to exempt from the operation of the rule if it is satisfied that special reasons exist for doing so.

  1. Educational Qualifications 

(a) Bachelor's degree from a recognized University established by law in India or an equivalent degree recognized by a State Government.

(b) Minimum speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi typing on computer is mandatory.

EXAM PATTERN

(a) Written and Proficiency Test: Selection will be on the basis of written and typing tests. The question paper of the written test (CBT) will be of two parts. The question paper will be in two languages Hindi and English.

Part I:- 

(1) The written examination of the first part will consist of a question paper related to computer knowledge of the “CCC” level of NIELIT. There will be 50 objective-type questions and each question will be of 1 mark. This test comprises 50 marks and 1/4 marks will be deducted for each wrong answer. 

(2) It will be mandatory to obtain at least 20 marks in this examination of the first part of computer knowledge, otherwise in the event of not considering the candidate as qualified, his second part of the written examination will not be evaluated.

(3) The marks obtained in this first part of Computer Knowledge will not be counted for determining the merit. 

Part II :-  

In the second part of the written examination, there will be an objective type question paper related to the following syllabus, in which 01 mark will be awarded for every wrong answer for the right answer and for every wrong answer 1/4 mark will be deducted.

Part III:-

On the basis of the marks obtained in the written examination of the second part, the number of candidates to be invited for Hindi and English typing test will be decided by the Power Corporation. Provided that the number of candidates to be invited under any circumstances shall not be less than three times the number of vacancies.

- The candidates will have to appear for 05 minutes test on the computer for Hindi and English typing, on the basis of which the typing speed will be determined.

Hindi typing test will be taken in Kruti Dev 010 or 016 font.

For selection, it will be mandatory to obtain a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi typing, that is, the candidates who do not achieve this speed prescribed for Hindi typing will be out of the selection process.

20 marks will be allotted for typing. These 20 marks will be awarded only to such candidates who have secured a minimum speed of 30 words per minute in Hindi typing as well as a minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English typing, otherwise, no marks will be awarded.

  1. English:- Synonyms & Antonyms, Verb, Tenses, Articles, Fill in the Blanks, Grammar, Vocabulary, Cloze Test, Sentence Correction, Error Correction, Reading Comprehension, Idioms & Phrases, Sentence Rearrangement etc. 

  2. Hindi:- संधि एवं संधि विच्छेद, समास, उपसर्ग, पर्यायवाची शब्द, विलोम शब्द, युग्म शब्द, शब्दशुद्धि वाक्य शुद्धि, वाच्य, क्रिया, अनेक शब्दों के लिए एक शब्द, मुहावरे आदि।

  3. General Studies:- Current Affairs - National and International, Indian Geography, History - India and World, Indian Polity- Science Technology, Indian Constitution, Indian Economy, Environmental issues etc.

  4. Reasoning Ability :- Discrimination, Data Classification, Non-Verbal Series, Spatial Orientation, Visual Memory, Relationship Concepts, Arithmetic Number Series, Arithmetic Reasoning, Similarities and Differences, Coding and Decoding, Spatial Visualization, Analogy, Alphabet Series, Observation etc.
