However, it should be understood that the Indian Navy is not obligated to retain Agniveers beyond the completion of their four-year engagement period.
Selection will include three stages i.e. Shortlisting (computer-based online examination), 'Written Examination, PFT, Initial Medical' and Final Recruitment Medical Examination
(a) The question paper will be computer-based, consisting of 100 questions, with each question carrying 1 mark.

(c) The question paper will be divided into four sections: English, Science, Mathematics, and General Awareness.
(d) The question paper will follow the syllabus of the 10th standard.

(f) Candidates must pass all sections as well as achieve the required aggregate score. The pass marks for each section and the overall aggregate will be determined by the Indian Navy.
Note: Candidates should be aware that there is a penalty (Negative Marking) for wrong answers. Each incorrect answer will result in a deduction of one-fourth (0.25) of the marks assigned to that question.
Candidates who are shortlisted in the INET (computer-based online examination) will receive a call-up letter for Stage II, which includes the written examination, Physical Fitness Test (PFT), and Medical examination. Stage II will be conducted at specific Indian Navy centers as designated by the authorities.
Qualifying in Physical Fitness Test (PFT) is mandatory for selection. Candidates undergoing PFT will do so at their own risk. PFT standard is as follows:-

All selected candidates will undergo a final recruitment medical examination at INS Chilka.
Candidates who are found medically unfit during the initial medical examination will be informed and given a maximum of 21 days to appeal the decision at an approved military hospital designated by the Indian Navy. It should be noted that no further review or appeal beyond this stage will be permitted.
After the initial medical examination, all selected candidates will undergo a final recruitment medical examination at INS Chilka. Those who pass the final recruitment medical examination and are declared medically fit will be offered employment.
Medical Standard:-
Candidates who exhibit predominant characteristics of the opposite gender during the external physical examination will be deemed unfit and rejected. Similarly, candidates who have undergone gender reassignment surgery will also be declared unfit.
