The Agricultural Scientists Recruitment Board has issued an official notification regarding the National Eligibility Test (NET)- 2023 on 14th March 2023. This recruitment drive is being conducted for the recruitment of Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) (T-6) & Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T-6). The examination is going to be conducted in an Online computer-based (CBT) mode.
Online applications are invited from interested and eligible candidates from 22nd March 2023 (10:00 AM) to 10th April 2023 (05:00 PM) and the examination for the same is scheduled to be conducted on 26th April - 30th April 2023. Those who want to apply for the same are advised to read this article, as we are sharing the whole exam-related information here which is necessary to know before applying for the examination.

A candidate must be either:- (i) a citizen of India, or
(ii) a citizen of Nepal, or
(iii) a citizen of Bhutan, or (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before the 1st January, 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) and (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.

Candidate must have a Master’s degree in their respective fields to apply for the National Eligibility Test (NET), Subject Matter Specialist (SMS) (T-6) & Senior Technical Officer (STO) (T-6). To get detailed information about the eligibility criteria, candidates are advised to refer to the official notification.

Now register yourself first by entering your credentials and your registration ID and password will be sent to your registered mail ID.
Following the directions on the application form, complete it by entering all the necessary information. ( While filling out the online form, candidates should have pertinent information, and documentation ready and available).
Now, upload the required documents in the needed size.
Pay the application fee online and Submit the application after completing the online form and making the payment.
Now take a printout of the same for future reference.

There will be one paper of 150 marks consisting of 150 objective-type multiple-choice questions.
The exam should be attempted in 2 (Two) hours.
Each question carries one mark.
These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
1/3 mark will be deducted for each wrong answer in the NET-2023. There will be no rounding off of fractions of marks.
The examination for SMS (T-6) shall have one paper of 150 marks with all multiple choice objective questions.
The exam should be attempted in 2 (Two) hours.
These 150 questions shall be derived from the respective discipline in which the candidate has opted to appear.
The Examination questions will be available in bilingual form i.e. Hindi and English medium.
The Examination will be conducted in an Online format at the designated Centres. The answers are to be indicated on the Computer itself during the Examination.

Note:After appearing in the online examination of the SMS & STO, candidates have to appear in the Interview, which will be of 30 marks in total. The candidates will be interviewed by a Board of competent and unbiased experts in the respective disciplines, who will have before them a record of his/her career. The object of the interview is to assess his/her suitability for the post for which he/she has competed.
