On March 22, 2023, the Employees' Provident Fund Organization published a recruiting notice for the Social Security Assistant & Stenographer position. Online applications are invited from eligible candidates from the 27th of March to the 26th of April 2023. Those who want to apply for the EPFO SSA 2023 are advised to visit the official website of the EPFO for the online application.
Through this recruitment drive, 2859 vacant seats are going to be filled for the posts of Social Security Assistant (SSA) and Stenographer in the Employees' Provident Fund Organization (EPFO).
A candidate may apply for more than one post but will have to pay the examination fee separately for each post. The details of the essential qualification, the number of vacancies, age limit and scale of pay are mentioned in this article. Candidates are advised to read this article carefully before applying for these posts.

(i) A candidate must be either:
a. a citizen of India, or
b. a subject of Nepal, or
c. a subject of Bhutan, or
d. a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
e. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
f. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d) and (e) above shall be a person in whose favor a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
Social Security Assistant
Candidates must be between 18-27 years as of the closing date to apply for this post.
Stenographer
Candidates must be between 18-27 years as of the closing date to apply for this post.

Social Security Assistant
(i) Bachelor's Degree from a recognized University.
(ii) A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer.
Stenographer
1. 12th class pass from a recognized Board
2. Skill Test norms.
Dictation: Ten minutes at the rate of eighty words per minute.
Transcription: Fifty minutes (English)/Sixty-five minutes (Hindi) (Only on the computer)

Choose "Click here for Registration" and fill out the form with your name, address, and email address.
Your Registration Number and Password will be sent to your email address.
Complete the application form by entering all necessary information, then click the FINAL SUBMIT BUTTON.
Upload your photo, signature, and any required certificates or documents.
To make a payment, select the "Payment" Tab.
After the final submission, take a printout of the final submission.

Phase 1 Examination
Each question shall have 4 marks.
The marks obtained in Phase–I will be considered for final selection on merit.
For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
The examination will be conducted in objective mode.
The examination will be conducted for a total of 600 marks.
Phase 2 Computer Skill Test (Computer Data Entry Test)
Candidates will be required to appear for the Skill Test to assess speed and accuracy for Data Entry Work. A typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi on a computer. (35 and 30 words per minute correspond to 10500 Key Depression Per Hour (KDPH) / 9000 KDPH on an average of 5 key depressions for each word for Data Entry Work. Candidates short-listed for the Skill Test will have to appear for a Skill Test.
NOTE:- Computer Skill Test will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be reckoned for merit ranking.
Phase 1 Examination
Question paper will be of Objective Type Multiple Choice only. The questions will be set both in English and Hindi except for part III i.e. English Language and Comprehension.
Each question shall have 4 marks.
The marks obtained in Phase – I will be considered for final selection on merit.
For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of one-fourth of the mark assigned to that question.
The examination will be conducted for a total of 800 marks.
Phase 2 Skill Test in Stenography
The candidates who are shortlisted in the Phase-I Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The time allotted is as under:-
Dictation: Ten minutes at the rate of eighty words per minute. (Dictation will be computer-based) Transcription: Fifty minutes (English) / Sixty-five minutes (Hindi). (Only on the computer)
NOTE:- Skill Test in Stenography will be qualifying in nature. Marks obtained will not be reckoned for merit ranking.
