GDS RECRUITMENT 2023:

Gramin Dak Sevak (GDS) recruitment notification 2023 has been issued on 20th May 2023. . Eligible candidates are invited to apply online for the positions of Gramin Dak Sevaks (GDS) [Branch Postmaster (BPM)/Assistant Branch Postmaster (ABPM)] in Branch Post Offices (BOs) established in 2023. Interested applicants can submit their applications through the official website of the Indian Post starting from May 22, 2023, until June 11, 2023.

Branch Post Master (BPM) 

The role of the Branch Post Master (BPM) involves:

a) Handling day-to-day postal operations at the Branch Post Office (B.O) and India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) as per departmental guidelines.

b) Promoting and marketing the Department's products and services, as well as managing various services at the Customer Services Centres (CSC).

c) In single-handed BOs, BPMs are responsible for the smooth functioning of the office, including mail conveyance and delivery.

d) In BOs with additional staff, BPMs may receive assistance from Assistant Branch Postmasters (ABPMs). However, BPMs may also perform ABPM duties when necessary or in the absence of ABPMs. They may also be assigned other tasks by superiors such as Mail Overseers (M.O), Inspector Posts (IPO), Assistant Superintendents of Posts (ASPO), Superintendent of Post Offices (SPOs), Senior Superintendent of Post Office (SSPOs), etc.

Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM)

The responsibilities of the Assistant Branch Post Master (ABPM) include:

a) Selling stamps and stationery, delivering mail to doorsteps, and handling mail exchanges with the accounting office, as well as conducting deposits, payments, and other transactions for IPPB.

b) Assisting the BPM in postal operations according to departmental guidelines.

c) Promoting and marketing the Department's products and services, as well as managing various services at the Customer Services Centres (CSC).

d) In the absence of a BPM, ABPMs may also be required to perform the combined duties of a BPM in addition to their regular responsibilities.

e) ABPMs may be assigned other tasks by superiors such as IPO, ASPO, SPOs, SSPOs, etc.

Age Limit

• Minimum age:18 years 
• Maximum age:40 years

Relaxation in age is also permissible to some special category, the detail for the same is tabulated below:- 

Educational Qualification

(a) Secondary School Examination pass certificate of 10th standard having passed in Mathematics and English (having been studied as compulsory or elective subjects) conducted by any recognized Board of School Education by the Government of India/State Governments/ Union Territories in India shall be a mandatory educational qualification for all approved categories of GDS. 

(b) The applicant should have studied the local language at least up to Secondary standard [as compulsory or elective subjects]. 

(2). OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:- 

(i) Knowledge of computer 

(ii) Knowledge of cycling 

(iii) Adequate means of livelihood

INDIAN POST GDS APPLICATION PROCESS 2023:

• Visit the official website of the Indian Post.

• On the homepage, you will get a registration tab. After clicking on the tab you will redirected to the next screen where you have to fill out your credentials carefully.

• After the successful registration, your login credentials will be sent to your email id. Now log in and fill out the application form by selecting apply online tab.

• Now upload the required documents and pay the application fee to complete the application process, 

• Take a screenshot of the final submission for future reference. 

Application Fee

A fee of Rs.100/-/-(Rupees one hundred only) is to be paid by the applicants for all posts notified in choice of Division. However, payment of fee is exempted for all female applicants,SC /ST applicants, PwD applicants and Transwomen applicants.
