Indian Coast Guard has issued an official notification for the recruitment of Navik (General Duty) and Narvik (Domestic Branch) in the Indian Coast Guard, an Armed Force of the Union. Online applications are invited by eligible candidates from 6th February to 16th February 2023.

Navik (General Duty)
Navik (General Duty) serves onboard ships and ashore for various duties, as an Enrolled Personnel. Navik (GD) candidates are allotted specialization trade on completion of basic training at INS Chilka. The trades/specialization is allotted on the performance of the candidate in the training and the requirement of the service.
Navik (Domestic Branch)
The Navik (Domestic Branch) provide logistics support to the Ships Company onboard ship and ashore as Cook & Steward as mentioned below:
Cook: They would be required to prepare food as per menu (both vegetarian and non-vegetarian including handling of meat products) and accounting of ration. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organisation.
Stewards: They would be required to serve food in the Officer’s mess as waiters, housekeeping, maintenance and accounting of funds, wine and stores handling, preparation of menu etc. In addition, they will also be allotted other duties for the efficient running of the organisation.
Candidates must be Indian citizens to apply for this post. (Only male candidates can apply for this post).
Candidates must be between 18 Years to 22 years to apply for this post i.e. candidates must be born between 01 Sep 2001 to 31 Aug 2005 (both dates inclusive).
Relaxation in upper age is also permissible for some special categories which are as follows:-

2. On the homepage, you will get a link to register yourself by entering your credentials.
3. After the successful completion of registration, your login credentials will be sent to your email. id.
4. Now click on the “apply online” tab and enter your details carefully. Afterwards, fill out the application form and upload the documents in the needed format.
5. Pay the application fee to complete the application process. Take a printout of the final submission for your records

After meeting all of the requirements of the selection process, candidates will be judged for the final recruitment for the Indian Coast Guard Navik (GD) and Navik (Domestic Branch) in 2023 based on the four stages outlined below:
The written test will be conducted for the Navik (GD) in 2 sections and for the Navik (DB) in 1 section. Candidate scoring more marks in Section–I {applicable only for Navik (GD) and not for Navik (DB)}.
Candidates will participate in PFT at their own risk. All candidates are urged to have a sports outfit, including shoes, a t-shirt, and pants. The PFT includes:

All chosen candidates will have their final medical examinations conducted at INS Chilka, which will include reviewing OF medicals and determining if they "Provisionally Pass" or "Fail." Candidates who do not pass the final medical exam at the INS Chilka will not be enrolled in the training session.
Candidates who successfully complete Stage III and rank among the best candidates for the open positions will be provisorily shortlisted for training at INS Chilka. The candidates are required to provide all original documentation, and the Indian Coast Guard will verify all original documentation through boards, universities, and state governments. If the relevant Boards, Universities, or State Government report the documents as not being original, the candidate will be fired from their position.
The question paper for section I and II, will be objective type with four options.
Each right answer will be rewarded as 1 mark.
There is no negative marking in the written examination test.

Note:- 1. These positions are provisional and subject to change based on the availability of training slots.
2. Candidates from the SC/ST/OBC (non-creamy)/EWS categories are still eligible to apply, even if there are no open positions. They won't be qualified for any age-related or passing-marks-related concessions, relaxations, etc. Even in this situation, SC/ST candidates are not required to pay an application fee.
