Indian Army issued the official notification regarding the JAG Entry Scheme 31st Course (Oct 2023). Online applications are invited from unmarried male and unmarried female LAW GRADUATES for grant of Short Service Commission in the Indian Army for the Judge Advocate General (JAG) Branch. Candidates can apply for the same till 16th February 2023.

A candidate must either be:
(i) A citizen of India, or
(ii) A subject of Nepal,
(iii) A person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka and East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii) and (iii) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A certificate of eligibility will, however, not be necessary in the case of candidates who are Gorkha subjects of Nepal.
Candidates must be between the ages of 21 and 27 as of July 1, 2023 (inclusive of dates born no earlier than July 2, 1996, and no later than July 1, 2002).
Minimum 55% overall in their LLB degree (five years after 10 plus 2 or three years after graduation) examination. Additionally, all applicants (including LLM-qualified and LLM-appearing candidates) who apply for courses beginning in a specific year must have a CLAT PG Score from the previous year. The candidates should be qualified to register with the Bar Council of India/State as an advocate. Candidate must be from a college or university that has been approved by the Indian Bar Council.

On the homepage, Officer Entry Apply/Login should be selected before selecting "Registration" (registration is not necessary if you are already registered at www.joinindianarmy.nic.in).
After carefully reading the instructions, complete the online registration form to ensure a successful registration.
After logging in, select "Apply Online" from the Dashboard. It will open a page entitled "Officers Selection - Eligibility." Afterwards, select "Apply" next to Short Service Commission JAG Entry Course.
The "Application Form" page will load. After carefully reading the instructions, click "Continue" and complete the required information for the various phases such as Personal information, Communication details, Education details and details of previous SSB. You must always click "Save & Continue" before moving on to the next section.
After completing the last segment's details, you will be taken to the "Summary of your information" page, where you can review and change the entries that have already been completed.
Only once you are confirmed that all of your information is accurate you should click on submit, each time a candidate opens the application to make changes, they must click "Submit."
Take a printout of the last submission for future reference.
There is no application fee for any category.

Stipend to Gentlemen or Lady Cadets during the entire duration of training in Service academies i.e. during the training period at OTA is ₹ 56,100/-p.m.
Note: Following successful commissioning, the officer's pay in the Pay Matrix will be fixed in the first Cell of Level 10. The training period is not considered commissioned service. Cadets will be paid any arrears on account of admissible allowances for the training period.
