The Lok Sabha Secretariat of the Parliament of India has released the Parliament of India Recruitment Notification 2023 on the official website.
A total of 13 vacancies for Parliamentary Interpreter posts have been announced under this recruitment, with 8 for English/Hindi stream interpreters and 5 for Dogri, Kashmiri, Konkani, Santhali, and Sindhi interpreters. For the post of Parliamentary Interpreter, the upper age limit prescribed by Parliament of India Notification 2023 is 35 years. Age relaxation will be provided to the reserved categories in accordance with government regulations.

For English/Hindi Interpreters | |
Master’s Degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory/elective subject at the Degree Level or Master’s Degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory/elective subject at the Degree Level or Master’s Degree in any other discipline with English and Hindi as compulsory/elective subjects at the Degree Level. | (1) Experience in translation or interpretation work; and (2) Certificate in computer course recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) or courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of the course as prescribed by NIELIT. |
For Regional Language Interpreters | |
Master’s Degree in English or any other discipline (with English as a compulsory/elective subject at the Degree Level) with regional language(s) concerned as recognized in the Constitution of India as a compulsory/elective subject at the Degree Level. | (1) Experience in translation or interpretation work; and (2) Certificate in computer course recognized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE)/ National Institute of Electronics & Information Technology (NIELIT) or courses equivalent to ‘O’ Level in terms of syllabus and duration of course as prescribed by NIELIT. |
To be considered for the position of Parliamentary Interpreter, candidates must go through the following four stages:
During the Oration test, a candidate for the position of Regional Language Interpreter will be required to speak extempore for 3 minutes in English and 3 minutes in the Regional Language concerned on any of the 7 topics in English and 7 topics in the language concerned assigned to her/him. A candidate for the position of English/Hindi Interpreter will be required to speak for three minutes in English and three minutes in Hindi on one of seven topics in English and seven topics in Hindi.
a) For Regional Language Interpreters - (i) 50 Multiple choice objective type questions each on General Knowledge & Current Affairs; General English; and General regional language concerned - 150 Marks (75 Minutes); and (ii) Translation from concerned language to English of 100 Marks and from English to concerned language of 100 Marks (2 Hours).
b) For English/Hindi Interpreters – (i) 50 Multiple choice objective type questions each on General Knowledge & Current Affairs; General English; and General Hindi - 150 Marks (75 Minutes); and (ii) Translation n from English to Hindi of 100 Marks and from Hindi to English of 100 Marks (2 Hours).
(i) Regional Language Interpreters - from concerned language to English (5 Minutes) of 100 Marks and from English to concerned language (5 Minutes) of 100 Marks.
(ii) English/ Hindi Interpreters - from English to Hindi (5 Minutes) of 100 Marks and from Hindi to English (5 Minutes) of 100 Marks
The personal interview will carry 50 Marks. Candidates will have to qualify the Personal Interview at the requisite standards.

Search for "New Registration" on the homepage and click on that link.
There, complete all of the necessary steps to create your Registration ID and password, which will be required to fill out the application form.

The application form will appear on your screen after logging in. Fill out the form completely. To avoid future problems, try not to make any mistakes.
After correctly entering all of your information, upload the required documents as specified, including your scanned photograph and signature, and then click the "Continue" button.
