The Staff Selection Commission will conduct an open competitive examination for recruitment of Constable (Driver)-Male in Delhi Police as per the Memorandum of Understanding signed between Delhi Police and the Staff Selection Commission. Candidates from all parts of the country will be eligible to apply.

The Staff Selection Commission has released the Official Notification for the examination of Delhi Police Constable Driver on 8 July, 2022 at their Official Website. Many candidates have applied for the examination. Through this article, we are providing all the exam-related information.

APPLICATION PROCESS:

How to apply

1. Go to https://ssc.nic.in/, the SSC's official website.

2. Select "Apply" from the menu on the SSC homepage.

3. Look for the link of "Driver (Constable) - Male in Delhi Police Examination." Select that link.

4. A prompt to "Login to Apply for the Examination" will appear. Choose "Ok."

5. You'll return to the SSC home page, where the Login section can be found. If you are a new user, click "Register Now" and complete the form to create your registration number and password; otherwise, log in using the information you already provided.

6. Fill out the application with the necessary information, making sure that there are no errors or discrepancies.

7. Once the application form has been completed, attach the necessary scanned documents and check the information entered.

8. Use an online payment method to pay the needed application cost before submitting the application form. Once the application has been submitted, download it and print it off for your records.

Note: There is no fee for Females/ SC/ ST and Ex-servicemen.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

Nationality

Candidates must be citizens of India.

Age Limit 

Candidates must be between 21-30 years as on 01-07-2022. The candidate must have been born not earlier than 02-07-1992 and not later than 01-07-2001.

Relaxation in the upper age limit for different categories is also given to some special categories.The detailing for the same is tabulated below;- 

Educational Qualification

• 10+2 (Senior Secondary) passed or equivalent from a recognized Board (as on 29.07.2022 i.e. the closing date of receipt of online application 

• Should be able to drive heavy vehicles with confidence 

• Valid driving license for Heavy Motor Vehicles (as on closing date of receipt of online application) 

• Possess knowledge of maintenance of vehicles.

SELECTION PROCESS:

The selection for the Delhi Police Constable Driver will be based on the following process:-

(i) Computer Based Examination

(ii) Physical Endurance and Measurement Test (PE&MT) 

(iii)Trade Test and 

(iv) Medical Examination of the recommended candidates.

1. Written Examination

The exam will be conducted in CBT mode and there is no negative marking. Each right answer will be rewarded with 1 mark. The questions will be asked in Hindi & English both. The pattern for the same is as follows:-

2. Physical Endurance Test 

The results of the physical endurance test for each candidate, including servicemen and departmental candidates, are listed below (by age):

3. Trade Test 

The candidates who qualify the Physical Endurance and Measurement Tests (PE&MT) will be called for the Trade Test. The Driving License of all the candidates who qualify the PE&MT will be verified and only those candidates whose Driving License are found genuine will be allowed to appear in the Trade Test. The candidate will also produce a valid Driving License (in original) at the time of Trade test. Necessary legal action will be taken against those candidates whose Driving License are found forged/false.

The trade test shall cover the following aspects and the Board will award the marks of each test as indicated below:-

4. Medical Standard

1 The candidates should be of sound health, free from disease/defect/ deformity. 

2 Better eye vision 6/6 without glasses, worse eye 6/12 without glasses. Free from colour blindness. No relaxation is allowed/ permissible. 

3 The selected candidates shall be medically examined by doctors in selected Government hospitals in Delhi as per the prescribed standards in Rule-17A (XX) and Rule-24 (Appendix) of the Delhi Police (Appointment & Recruitment) Rules, 1980 as amended from time to time.

5. Document Verification

All the candidates short-listed on the basis of their performance in the Computer Based Examination and who qualify all the events of PE&MT (i.e. race, long/ high jump and physical measurement) will be required to appear for and Trade Test and Document Verification along with the photocopies and original documents.

Incentive to NCC Certificate Holders

The incentive to ‘NCC Certificate’ holders will be granted at the following scales: 

Note: (i) The benefit will only be given on production of the original certificate supporting their claims (subject to verification) at the time of document verification (i.e. PE&MT). The crucial date for this purpose will be the closing date of receipt of online applications. This benefit is not available for Ex-servicemen. 

WEIGHTAGE OF ADDITIONAL MARKS:

The weightage of additional marks will be given to the candidates possessing Degree or Post-Graduate Diploma Certificate awarded by the Rashtriya Raksha University (RRU) which will be at the following scales:-
