UPPSC PCS EXAMINATION 2023:

The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) released the notification 2023 for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services and Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination (PCS) 2023 on its official website on March 03, 2023. The online application process began concurrently with the release of the notification, and applicants may apply until April 6, 2023.

UPPSC PCS 2023 ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:

(a) Nationality

All Indian citizens are eligible to apply for this examination.

(b) Age Limits

The candidate's age must be between 21 to 40 years on July 1, 2023, i.e. they must have not been born earlier than 2nd July 1983 and not later than July 1, 2002. For Pwds candidates, the maximum age limit is 55 years i.e. they must have not been born before 02 July 1968.

(ii) Preferential :- Research experience or field training conducted by Geological Survey of India.
Technical Assistant (Geophysics)	Post graduate degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology or applied Geology (with physics, Mathematics at the B.Sc. level) from a university established by law in India.
Tax Assessment Officer	Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or economics with 55% mark’s.

UPPSC PCS 2023 EXAM PATTERN:

(a) Preliminary Examination

The prelims examination will be of objective type.
There will be two papers of 200 marks each and of two hours duration. Both papers will be objective type and multiple choice, with 150 and 100 questions, respectively.
The timing of paper I will be from 9.30 to 11.30 A.M. and paper II from 2.30 to 4.30 P.M.

(b) Mains examination

All Papers of the mains examination shall be “Conventional type” and for solving the questions three hours time is allowed.
Two hundred maximum marks have been allotted for each General Studies question paper.
Duration for each examination will be of 3 hours i.e. 9.30 am to 12.30 pm & 2 pm to 5 pm.

(a) Syllabus for Preliminary Examination Pertaining to the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services Examination

India and World Geography - Physical, Social, Economic geography of India and the World: In World Geography only general understanding of the subject will be expected. Questions on the Geography of India will relate to Physical, Social & Economic Geography of India. Indian Polity and Governance - Constitution, Political System, Panchayati Raj, Public Policy, Rights Issues, etc.:- In Indian Polity, Economic and Culture, questions will test knowledge of country's political system including Panchayati Raj and Community Development, broad features of Economic policy in India and Indian Culture. Economic and Social Development - Sustainable Development, Poverty, Inclusion, Demographics, Social Sector Initiatives, etc.:- The candidates will be tested with respect to problems and relationship between Population, Environment and Urbanisation. General Issues on Environmental ecology, Bio-diversity and Climate Change - that do not require subject specialization, General awareness of the subject is expected from candidates. General Science:- Questions on General Science will cover general appreciation and understanding of Science including matters of every day observation and experience, as may be expected of a well educated person, who has not made a special study of any scientific discipline. General English	There will be three sections in the question paper of Essay. Candidates will have to select one topic from each section and they are required to write essay in 700 words on each topic. In the three sections, topics of essay will be based on following sphere : Section A: (1) Literature and Culture. (2) Social sphere. (3) Political sphere. Section B: (1) Science, Environment and Technology. (2) Economic Sphere (3) Agriculture, Industry and Trade. Section C: (1) National and International Events. The posts entitled to the UPPSC combine state/upper subordinate examination are entitled to the pay scale as per 6th pay commission of Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs 4600/- (except Naib Tehsildar whose grade pay is Rs. 4200/-) to Rs. 15600-39100/- Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-.
