The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) released the notification 2023 for the Combined State / Upper Subordinate Services and Assistant Conservator of Forest / Range Forest Officer Services Examination (PCS) 2023 on its official website on March 03, 2023. The online application process began concurrently with the release of the notification, and applicants may apply until April 6, 2023.
The two optional papers were removed from the main exams this year, in a major change made by the commission. Candidates are advised to read the entire article to learn more about the UPPSC 2023 Examination, UPPSC Vacancy 2023, UPPSC Syllabus, and so on.

The candidate's age must be between 21 to 40 years on July 1, 2023, i.e. they must have not been born earlier than 2nd July 1983 and not later than July 1, 2002. For Pwds candidates, the maximum age limit is 55 years i.e. they must have not been born before 02 July 1968.

Technical Assistant (Geology)
Essential Qualification:- (I) A master's degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geology or Applied Geology or Diploma in Applied Geology from Indian School of Mines and Applied Geology, Dhanbad. (ii) Preferential :- Research experience or field training conducted by Geological Survey of India.
Technical Assistant (Geophysics)
Post graduate degree with at least 50 percent mark’s in Geophysics, Applied Geophysics, Geology or applied Geology (with physics, Mathematics at the B.Sc. level) from a university established by law in India.
Tax Assessment Officer
Bachelor’s degree in Commerce or economics with 55% mark’s.
In the event that positions such as Dy. Superintendent of Police, Superintendent of Jail, District Commandant Home Guards, Excise Inspector, and Deputy Jailor become available, physical measurements will be applied in accordance with the Service Rules/requisitions as follows:-

Click the link to apply online for UPPSC Recruitment 2023.
A new window will open, select the UPPSC PCS 2023 exam, and then click the UPPSC Apply button.
Fill out the required information for the UPPSC PCS registration process.
Pay the mandatory UPPSC application fee.
Fill out all of the required information.
Upload UPPSC PCS scans such as photos, certificates, and so on.
To finish filling out the UPPSC PCS application form 2023, click the submit button.
Print the finally submitted UPPSC Application Form as a PDF for future reference.

The selection process of the combined state/upper subordinate examination consists following stages:
Stage-I: Preliminary Examination
Stage-II; Mains Examination
Your admit card will be updated on the authorities' official website 10 or 15 days prior to the examination.
Follow the steps mentioned below to download your admit card (when available):
Visit the commission's official website.
Now, in the recruitment dashboard, click the exam admit card link.
Enter your registration information, such as your registration ID or password, now.
Your admit card will be displayed on the screen.
Download your admit card and print it for future reference.
The prelims examination will be of objective type.
There will be two papers of 200 marks each and of two hours duration. Both papers will be objective type and multiple choice, with 150 and 100 questions, respectively.
The timing of paper I will be from 9.30 to 11.30 A.M. and paper II from 2.30 to 4.30 P.M.
All Papers of the mains examination shall be “Conventional type” and for solving the questions three hours time is allowed.
Two hundred maximum marks have been allotted for each General Studies question paper.
Duration for each examination will be of 3 hours i.e. 9.30 am to 12.30 pm & 2 pm to 5 pm.

Note:- Candidates are expected to have general awareness about the above subjects with special reference to Uttar Pradesh.
सामान्य हिन्दी (हाईस्कूल स्तर तक) के पाठ्यक्रम में सम्मिलित किये जाने वाले विषय
(1) दिये हुए गद्य खण्ड का अवबोध एवं प्रश्नोत्तर। (2) संक्षेपण। (3) सरकारी एवं अर्धसरकारी पत्र लेखन, तार लेखन, कार्यालय आदेश, अधिसूचना, परिपत्र। (4) शब्द ज्ञान एवं प्रयोग। (अ) उपसर्ग एवं प्रत्यय प्रयोग, (ब) विलोम शब्द, (स) वाक्यांश के लिए एकशब्द, (द) वर्तनी एवं वाक्य शुद्धि, (5) लोकोक्ति एवं मुहावरे।
There will be three sections in the question paper of Essay. Candidates will have to select one topic from each section and they are required to write essay in 700 words on each topic. In the three sections, topics of essay will be based on following sphere :
Section A: (1) Literature and Culture. (2) Social sphere. (3) Political sphere.
Section B: (1) Science, Environment and Technology. (2) Economic Sphere (3) Agriculture, Industry and Trade.
Section C: (1) National and International Events. (2) Natural Calamities, Land slide, Earthquake, Deluge, Drought etc. (3) National Development programmes and projects.

The posts entitled to the UPPSC combine state/upper subordinate examination are entitled to the pay scale as per 6th pay commission of Rs. 9300-34800 Grade Pay Rs 4600/- (except Naib Tehsildar whose grade pay is Rs. 4200/-) to Rs. 15600-39100/- Grade Pay Rs. 5400/-.
Currently, there are approximately 173 vacancies for the Combined State/Upper Subordinate Services (PCS) Examination. Depending on the circumstances/requirements, the number of vacancies may increase or decrease.
