UPDATE:

In a major decision, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has decided to scrap the upper age limit for the candidates appearing for the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test for Undergraduate or NEET-UG.

As per the rules and regulations on Graduate Medical Education-1997, the upper age limit for the NEET-UG for General Category was 25 years and for the SC/ST/OBC and PwBD categories was 30 years.

Note, that there is no change in the minimum age criteria, i.e. 17 years.

As per the Official Notice released on 9th March 2022 by the National Medical Commission, with the approval of the Chairperson of NMC, Dr. Pulkesh Kumar, the NMC Secretary said that there should not be any fixed upper age limit for the candidates appearing in the NEET-UG examination as decided by the commission. The Secretary has asked the National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts the NEET UG exam, to amend the Information Bulletin for this year’s exam.
