The Uttar Pradesh cabinet approved the state's first sports policy for 2023 on March 10, 2023, to promote sports and develop sports culture in the state.

Important Points:

• A "State Sports Authority" will also be formed in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of the Sports Authority of India, and private schools, colleges, and academies will be associated with sports.
• 14 Centers of Excellence and 5 High Performance Centers will also be established in Uttar Pradesh.
• Under the State Sports Policy 2023, 40 minutes will be set aside for sports, physical education, or yoga in every school.

उत्तर प्रदेश कैबिनेट ने राज्य में खेल को बढ़ावा देने और खेल संस्कृति को विकसित करने के लिए 10 मार्च 2023 को राज्य की पहली खेल नीति 2023 को मंजूरी दी।

महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु:

• भारतीय खेल प्राधिकरण की तर्ज पर उत्तर प्रदेश में भी एक 'राज्य खेल प्राधिकरण' का गठन किया जाएगा और निजी स्कूलों, कॉलेजों और अकादमियों को खेलों से जोड़ा जाएगा।
• उत्तर प्रदेश में 14 सेंटर ऑफ एक्सीलेंस और 5 हाई परफॉर्मेंस सेंटर भी स्थापित किए जाएंगे।
• राज्य खेल नीति 2023 के तहत प्रत्येक विद्यालय में खेलकूद, शारीरिक शिक्षा या योग के लिए 40 मिनट का समय निर्धारित किया जाएगा।

In Uttar Pradesh, it has been decided to set up PM Mitra Mega Textile Park on 1,000 acres of land in Lucknow-Hardoi at a cost of ₹ 1,200 crore.

Important Points-

• PM Mitra Mega Textile Parks will be set up in seven states of the country.
• The construction work of these parks will be completed by the year 2027-28.
• PM Mitra Mega Textile Parks will be built in Telangana, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
• The Prime Minister said that the textile sector will be promoted in line with the PM Mitra Mega Textile Park 5F (Farm to Fiber to Factory to Fashion to Foreign) vision.
• An investment of about Rs 70,000 crore and 20 lakh jobs are expected to be created in these parks.

उत्तर प्रदेश में लखनऊ-हरदोई की 1,000 एकड़ भूमि पर ₹1,200 करोड़ की लागत से  PM मित्र मेगा टेक्सटाइल पार्क की स्थापना का निर्णय किया गया है। 

महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु-

• पीएम मित्र मेगा टेक्सटाइल पार्क देश के सात राज्यों में स्थापित किए जाएंगे।
• इन पार्कों के निर्माण कार्य को वर्ष 2027-28 तक पूरा कर लिया जायेगा।
• पीएम मित्र मेगा टेक्सटाइल पार्क तेलंगाना, महाराष्ट्र, तमिलनाडु, गुजरात, कर्नाटक, मध्य प्रदेश और उत्तर प्रदेश में बनाए जाएंगे। 
• प्रधानमंत्री ने कहा कि पीएम मित्र मेगा टेक्सटाइल पार्क 5F (फार्म टू फाइबर टू फैक्ट्री टू फैशन टू फॉरेन) विजन के अनुरूप कपड़ा क्षेत्र को बढ़ावा दिया जायेगा। 
• इन पार्कों में लगभग 70,000 करोड़ रुपये के निवेश और 20 लाख रोजगार सृजन का अनुमान है।

In the last 6 years in Uttar Pradesh, 17.62 lakh houses were constructed under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban).

• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – (Urban) is a flagship mission of the Government of India, which is being implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs.
• Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-(Urban) was launched on 25 June 2015.
• Loans worth ₹1,190 crore have been disbursed to over 10.33 lakh street vendors under the Uttar Pradesh PM Swanidhi Yojana.
• The central government launched the PM Swanidhi scheme on 1 June 2020.

Uttar Pradesh is the only one in the country where there will be a total of 21 airports with 5 international and 16 domestic airports.

• Airports are being developed for Airbus A-321 type aircraft.
• Air service will be available from the airport of Uttar Pradesh to 80 destinations.

On January 29, 2023, the High Power Committee of the Uttar Pradesh Government gave GI tag to 21 agricultural products, including Paniyala produced in Lachhipur and nearby villages of Gorakhpur.

Important Points:

• Paniyala is a  fruit with a sour-sweet flavour that resembles jamun in both appearance and flavour.

  Basically, this is a   fruit that is only found in Uttar Pradesh.

• Paniyala is a mine of medicinal properties, its roots, leaves, bark and fruits have immunity against bacteria.
• Additionally, it has been used to address swollen throats, pneumonia, phlegm, tooth discomfort, and gingival bleeding.

29 जनवरी, 2023 को उत्तर प्रदेश सरकार की हाई पावर कमेटी ने 21 कृषि उत्पादों को जी.आई. टैग दिया, जिसमें गोरखपुर के लच्छीपुर और आसपास के गांवों में उत्पादित पनियाला भी शामिल है।

On January 25, 2023, 8 personalities from Uttar Pradesh were honored with 'Padma Awards' for the year 2023 by the President.

Three of the 4 'Param Vir Chakra' winners from Uttar Pradesh - Havildar Veer Abdul Hameed, Naik Jadunath Singh, Lt Manoj Kumar Pandey have been awarded Param Vir Chakra  posthumously and Captain Yogendra Singh Yadav while alive.

• On the occasion of 'Parakram Diwas', January 23, 2022, the Prime Minister named 21 large uncharted islands of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands after the 21 winners of the Param Vir Chakra, the highest military decoration in India.
• This list includes 4 'Param Vir Chakra ' winners from Uttar Pradesh.
• Havildar Veer Abdul Hameed was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra  on 10 September 1965.
• Lieutenant Manoj Kumar Pandey was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra  in 1999 for his courage and leadership during the Kargil War.

• ‘पराक्रम दिवस’ 23 जनवरी, 2022 के अवसर पर प्रधानमंत्री ने भारत में सबसे बड़े सैन्य अलंकरण परमवीर चक्र के 21 विजेताओं के नाम पर अंडमान और निकोबार द्वीप समूह के 21 बड़े अज्ञात द्वीपों का नामकरण किया। 
• इस सूची में उत्तर प्रदेश के 4 ‘परमवीम चक्र’ विजेता शामिल हैं।
•  10 सितंबर, 1965 को हवलदार वीर अब्दुल हमीद मरणोपरांत परमवीर चक्र से सम्मानित किया गया था।

'International Trade Fair on Millets and Organic -2023' was organized in Bengaluru to promote cultivation of coarse grain crops, increase coverage, increase production and productivity, value addition and marketing arrangements in Uttar Pradesh

Important Points:

• The traditional food of India, Millet grain is gluten-free, high in protein, fiber, and antioxidant content.
• In Uttar Pradesh, coarse grains were sown in 83 lakh hectare area in the year 2020-21.
• Out of the total sown coarse cereals, only millet was sown in an area of 9.05 lakh hectares and in the remaining area Kodo, Sawan, Jowar, Madwa and Kakoon, etc. were sown.
• At present, the Government of India is also buying coarse grains at the minimum support price.

• भारत का पारंपरिक भोजन, बाजरा अनाज लस मुक्त, प्रोटीन, फाइबर और एंटीऑक्सीडेंट सामग्री में उच्च है।
• उत्तर प्रदेश में वर्ष 2020-21 में 83 लाख हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में मोटा अनाज बोया गया था।
• कुल बोए गए मोटे अनाजों में से केवल 9.05 लाख हेक्टेयर क्षेत्र में बाजरा बोया गया और शेष क्षेत्र में कोदो, सावन, ज्वार, मड़वा और काकून आदि बोए गए।
• फिलहाल भारत सरकार भी मोटे अनाज की खरीद न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य पर कर रही है.

In-principle approval has been given to open the country's first Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center at BHU Trauma Center in Banaras, Uttar Pradesh.

Important Points:

• With the opening of the country's first Advanced Care and Rehabilitation Center at the BHU Trauma Center in Banaras, world-class treatment facilities for serious diseases of the brain, spine and neuroses will be available in Kashi.
• The Spinal Injury Rehabilitation Center will provide facilities for treatment of brain, spinal, neuro-ophthalmic injuries with artificial intelligence as well as traditional medical methods. 
• At present, such a facility for treatment is available in Australia.
• This rehabilitation centre will be built along with a 200-bed super specialty structure using a total of Rs 200 billion.

  
  

 उत्तर प्रदेश के बनारस में  बीएचयू ट्रामा सेंटर में देश के पहले स्पाइनल इंजरी रिहेबिलिटेशन सेंटर खोलने की सैद्धांतिक मंजूरी दी गयी  है।

• बनारस के बीएचयू ट्रामा सेंटर में देश का पहला एडवांस केयर एंड रिहेबिलिटेशन सेंटर खुलने से ब्रेन, स्पाइन और न्यूरो की गंभीर बीमारियों का विश्व स्तरीय इलाज की सुविधा काशी में मिलेगी।
• स्पाइनल इंजरी रिहेबिलिटेशन सेंटर में ब्रेन, स्पाइनल, न्यूरो ऑप्थलेमिक इंजरी की आर्टिफिशियल इंटेलीजेंस के साथ ही पारंपरिक चिकित्सा पद्धति से भी इलाज की सुविधाएँ मिलेंगी।

This will be the country's first plant to make coal from waste in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh, which is being constructed by NTPC.

Important Points:

• On the commencement of this plant located in Ramna of Varanasi, 200 tonnes of coal can be manufactured from 600 tonnes of waste per day.
• After production of coal, this coal will be sold to the concerned companies in other districts.
• If this project is successful after three years of trial, then plants will be set up in other districts of the states as well.
• The capacity of this plant will be to process more than 800 tonnes of waste.
• The plant is targeted to be commissioned by December 2023.

उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी में कचरे से कोयला बनाने वाला यह देश का पहला प्लांट होगा, जिसका निर्माण एन.टी.पी.सी. कर रहा है।

महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु:

• वाराणसी के रमना में स्थित इस प्लांट के शुरू होने पर प्रतिदिन 600 टन कचरे से 200 टन कोयले का निर्माण किया जा सकेगा।
• कोयले के उत्पादन के बाद अन्य ज़िलों में संबंधित कंपनियों को यह कोयला बेचा जाएगा।
• तीन वर्ष के ट्रायल के बाद यह प्रोजेक्ट सफल रहा, तो प्रदेशों के अन्य जिलों में भी प्लांट लगाया जाएगा।
• इस प्लांट की क्षमता 800 टन से अधिक कचरा प्रसंस्करण की होगी। 
• इस प्लांट को दिसंबर 2023 तक शुरू करने का लक्ष्य रखा गया है।

Uttar Pradesh Board of Secondary Education Principal Secretary stated that the board has now made it mandatory to have 3000 square meters of land to open private schools in urban areas, which was earlier 650 square meters.

Important Points:

• Similarly, to open a private school in rural areas, it has now been increased from 2000 square meters to 6000 square meters of land.
• There should be a playground of 1000 square meters out of 3000 square meters of land in an urban area school and 2000 square meters of land in a school of 6000 square meters of land in a rural area.
• Along with this, it has been made necessary to have smart class, computer class and various resources.
• Under the minimum standard of National Education Policy-2020, quality education has been prescribed.

उत्तर प्रदेश माध्यमिक शिक्षा मंडल के प्रमुख सचिव ने बताया कि बोर्ड ने अब शहरी क्षेत्रों में निजी स्कूल खोलने के लिए 3000 वर्ग मीटर जमीन अनिवार्य कर दी है, जो पहले 650 वर्ग मीटर थी.

महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु:

• इसी तरह ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में निजी स्कूल खोलने के लिए जो पहले 2000 वर्ग मीटर था,  से  बढ़ा कर अब 6000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि  होना अनिवार्य कर दिया गया है ।
• शहरी क्षेत्र के विद्यालय में 3000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि में से 1000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि तथा ग्रामीण क्षेत्र में 6000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि वाले विद्यालय में 2000 वर्ग मीटर भूमि पर खेल का मैदान होना चाहिए।
• इसके साथ ही स्मार्ट क्लास, कंप्यूटर क्लास व विभिन्न संसाधन भी होना जरूरी कर दिया गया है।
• राष्ट्रीय शिक्षा नीति-2020 के न्यूनतम मानक के अंतर्गत गुणवत्तापरक शिक्षा के लिये निर्धारित किया गया हैं। 

Agriculture survey will be conducted in Uttar Pradesh on the lines of Karnataka.

• Agriculture data will be digitized under this agriculture survey.
• Arrangement will be made for satellite mapping of agriculture industry of the state.
• The satellite will provide accurate data on each village-wise, block-wise and district-wise extent of farms, grain planting, production.
• Growers will have access to essential fertilizers, pesticides and advice will be provided in product selection.

• उपग्रह प्रत्येक गांववार, ब्लॉकवार तथा जिलेवार खेतों की सीमा, अनाज रोपण, उत्पादन पर सटीक डेटा प्रदान करेगा।

Rs 200 crore has been approved for the construction of country's first public transport ropeway in Varanasi district of Uttar Pradesh.

Important Points:

• Tourists coming from all over the world in Varanasi will now be given the facility of a ropeway to travel from the congested Cantt station to Gaudaulia.
• The 3.75 km long ropeway system will have five stops at Vidya Peeth, Bharatmala Mandir, Rath Yatra, Girja Ghar, and Godowlia Chowk.
• Features of the Varanasi Ropeway Project-

  1) The Parvatmala Pariyojana's first municipal ropeway initiative is this one.

  2) It can move 3,000 people an hour in each way.

  3) A total of 153 gondolas or cabins, each holding ten people, will be used.

  4) This will run for 16 hours every day.

  5) Cantt to Gudaulia can be reached in 16 minutes as opposed to the present travel time of at least 45 minutes.

  
  

उत्तर प्रदेश के वाराणसी जिले में देश के पहले पब्लिक ट्रांसपोर्ट रोपवे  के निर्माण के लिये 200 करोड़ रुपए की मंज़ूर दी गयी है।

महत्वपूर्ण बिंदु:

• वाराणसी में दुनिया भर से आने वाले सैलानियों को अब भीड़भाड़ वाले इलाके कैंट स्टेशन से गौदौलिया तक के सफर के लिये रोपवे की सुविधा दी जाएगी ।
• 3.75 किमी लंबी रोपवे प्रणाली में विद्या पीठ, भारतमाला मंदिर, रथ यात्रा, गिरजा घर और गोदौलिया चौक पर पांच पड़ाव होंगे।
• वाराणसी रोपवे परियोजना की विशेषताएं-

  1) पर्वतमाला परियोजना की पहली नगरपालिका रोपवे पहल है।

  2) यह हर तरह से 3,000 लोगों को एक घंटे में स्थानांतरित कर सकता है।

  3) कुल 153 गोंडोल या केबिन, प्रत्येक में दस लोगों को रखने का उपयोग किया जाएगा।

  4) यह प्रतिदिन 16 घंटे चलेगा।

  5) कम से कम 45 मिनट के वर्तमान यात्रा समय के विपरीत कैंट से गुडौलिया तक 16 मिनट में पहुंचा जा सकता है।
