CTET is an important eligibility test for individuals aspiring to become teachers. It is a prerequisite for pursuing a career in the teaching profession and is required after completing a B.Ed or D.El.Ed course. The CTET is conducted at two levels - primary and secondary.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has recently issued an official notification for the CTET on 27th April 2023. The exam will be held in online mode (CBT) between July and August 2023. The exact exam dates will be mentioned on the admit cards of the candidates. Candidates must be an Indian citizen to apply for the examination.
To apply for the exam, a candidate must be at least 17 years old. Candidates should be aware that this exam has no upper age limit.
To be eligible for the TET/CTET exam, candidates must meet the following criteria

For Paper-I | For teaching classes I to V: Candidates must have passed 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and must have passed or be appearing in the final year of either a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education (D.El.Ed), a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), or a Diploma in Education (Special Education). Alternatively, candidates must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks and a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed) degree. |
For Paper-II | For teaching classes VI to VIII: Candidates must have completed graduation with at least 50% marks and passed or be appearing in the final year of either a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education, a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed), a B.Ed. (Special Education) degree, or a 1-year Bachelor in Education (B.Ed) with at least 45% marks. Alternatively, candidates must have passed 12th (or its equivalent) with at least 50% marks and passed or be appearing in the final year of either a 4-year Bachelor in Elementary Education (B.El.Ed), a B.A/B.Sc.Ed or B.A.Ed/B.Sc.Ed. Additionally, any candidate with a qualified B.Ed programme recognized by the NCTE is eligible to appear in TET/CTET. |

STEP 3: Fill in the Online Application Form and note down Registration No./Application No.
STEP 4: Upload Scanned Images of the latest Photograph and Signature
STEP 5: Pay the Examination Fee by debit/credit card and net banking.
STEP 6: Print the Confirmation page for record and future reference.
