Jammu and Kashmir has become India's first union territory to completely transition to e-governance.

• In the Union Territories category, Jammu and Kashmir was assessed for the first time in NESDA 2021  and  scored highest among all Union Territories for six sectors.  
• The National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment Report  has been prepared on the initiative of the Department of Administrative Reforms, Union Ministry of Personnel.
• The second edition of the National e-Governance Service Delivery Assessment 2021(NESDA 2021) was released by Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh.
• Kerala topped the evaluation of state portals in NESDA 2021 and the progress made by Tamil Nadu, Jammu & Kashmir and Uttar Pradesh was also commendable. Rajasthan, Punjab, Jammu and Kashmir, and Meghalaya have topped the rankings in the service portal.  
• With effect from October 31, 2019, after the Jammu and Kashmir Reorganization Act, 2019 came into force,  Jammu and Kashmir  became the  first Union Territory in the country to top the Good Governance Index
• The Union Territory of Jammu - Kashmir was also the first to launch the District Good Governance Index for 20 districts in January 2022.
•  A 'Coordination Cell'  has been constituted to monitor the progress of the implementation of online services in Jammu and Kashmir.

The National Election Commission has prepared a schedule for holding general elections to the Legislative Assemblies of the three states of North-East India, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Tripura.

An Overview of the news

• For this, the Commission made a thorough assessment of all relevant aspects, such as climatic conditions, academic calendar, board examinations, major festivals, law and order situation in these states, availability of Central Armed Police Forces, movement of forces and other relevant ground realities, etc. has been taken into account.
• The Election Commission, after considering all relevant aspects, has decided to recommend the Governor of the three States to issue notification for the General Election under the relevant provisions of the Representation of the People Act, 1951.

• निर्वाचन आयोग ने सभी प्रासंगिक पहलुओं पर विचार करने के बाद तीनों राज्यों के राज्यपाल को लोक प्रतिनिधित्व अधिनियम, 1951 के प्रासंगिक प्रावधानों के तहत आम चुनाव के लिए अधिसूचना जारी करने की सिफारिश करने का निर्णय लिया है।

The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) has decided to invest $425 million in the Boeing Company for the Sustainable Flight Demonstrator Project.

• Adopted unanimously, this resolution will recognize the importance of ensuring inclusive and equitable quality education and lifelong learning opportunities for all.
• Earlier in 2015, the education resolution was adopted by the United Nations General Assembly.
• The purpose of the resolution was to encourage member states to integrate Education for Democracy into their education standards.

A Rajasthani film"Nanera"directed byDipankar Prakashwas awarded the'Golden Kailasha'award for the best film at theAjanta-Ellora Film Festival.

• TheRajasthani film Nanera(Nanaji's house) revolves around the main character Manish.
• After the death of Manish's father, his maternal uncle starts taking decisions about his life.
• The life of Manish, the main character of the story, takes a new turn when he falls in love with his cousin. Because of this, his family finds themselves in trouble.
• 'Nanera' has also received the award for Best Director, Best Screenplay, Best Editing.
• The award was announced by N Vidyashankar, jury member of FIPRESCI (Fédération Internationale de la Presse Cinématographique The International Federation of Film Critics) India. 
• Under the award for the best film, 'Nanera' was given a trophy and a cash prize of one lakh rupees. 
• The eighth edition of the film festival was organised in Aurangabad from 11 to 15 January.
• Apart from this, Akshata Pandavapura of Kannada film 'Koli Isru' (Chicken Curry) won the Best Child Artist and Best Actress award.
• The film revolves around a young mother in a village who must somehow fulfil her daughter's desire to eat chicken curry.
• Jeetu Kamal was awarded the best actor award for the Bengali film 'Aparajito' at the film festival.
• 55 films were screened in this five-day film festival.

• यह फिल्म गांव की एक युवा मां के इर्द-गिर्द घूमती है, जिसमें एक मां अपनी बेटी की चिकन करी खाने की इच्छा को किसी भी तरह पूरा करना चाहती है।
• फिल्म महोत्सव मेंजीतू कमलको बांग्ला फिल्म‘अपराजितो’के लिएसर्वश्रेष्ठ अभिनेताका पुरस्कार दिया गया।
