The Culture Ministry will launch a new version of the 'Monument Mitra Scheme' by partnering with private industries for the maintenance of one thousand Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) monuments.

Important Points:

• The revised scheme will be based on the Corporate Social Responsibility model and a new website with the names of all the heritage sites will also be launched.
• The Smarak Mitra scheme was launched under the Ministry of Tourism. But, now the Smarak Mitra scheme was transferred from the Ministry of Tourism to the Ministry of Culture.
• The objective of the project is to develop monuments, heritage and tourist places across India by inviting corporate entities, public sector companies or individuals to 'adopt' them.

• This program will empower women in the agriculture sector mainly focusing on  small scale women producers.
• The main objectives of 'She Feeds the World' program are to  increase crop yield, increase income of women from BPL families,  ensure access to healthy and balanced diet as well as train women on sustainable agriculture  .

• It was e-launched by Aarti Ahuja, Secretary (Ministry of Labor & Employment) from EPFO Headquarters.
• Under  the Nidhi Aapke Nixon initiative, EPFO's stakeholders come to EPFO's regional offices for grievance redressal, while under Nidhi Aapke Nixon 2.0, EPFO will reach out to each and every stakeholder.

•  In the year 2021, a special forum Monthly Pension Adalat was started for redressal of  pensioners' grievances.

India and South Africa signed an MoU on 27 January to bring 12 African cheetahs annually over the next ten years.

Important Points:

• As per the agreement, an initial batch of 12 cheetahs will be brought from South Africa to India during February 2023.
• These cheetahs will be joined by eight cheetahs brought to India from Namibia during 2022.
• The government is working on several schemes for the rehabilitation work of Cheetah, in which 'Project Cheetah' is the main one.
• Under the cheetah rehabilitation plan, 50 cheetahs will be released in different national parks of the country over a period of 5 years.

Egypt plans to allot land for Indian industries in the 'Suez Canal Special Economic Zone'(SCEZ).

The Kerala Health Department on January 24 confirmed two cases of the gastrointestinal infection norovirus in class 1 students in Ernakulam district.

Important Points :

• This virus has been found in humans for more than 50 years and is known to be one of the primary causes of gastroenteritis (inflammation of the stomach and intestines).
• The virus is estimated to kill 200,000 people globally every year, with the majority of deaths occurring in children under the age of five and adults over the age of 65.
• The virus is able to survive in low temperatures, and outbreaks are more common during winter and in colder countries, so it is sometimes called "winter vomiting disease".

The 30th National Child Science Congress began at Science City in Ahmedabad on 27 January.
