UPSC CDS (I) RECRUITMENT 2022
The Union Public Service Commission has issued an official notification regarding the Combined Defence Services Examination (I) 2023 on 21st of December 2022. The exam is a national-level examination for the recruitment of candidates into the Indian Military Academy, the Officers’ Training Academy, the Indian Naval Academy and the Indian Air Force Academy.
Candidates willing to apply for the examination should ensure that they fulfil all the eligibility conditions for admission to the Examination. Their admission at all the stages of the examination will be purely provisional subject to satisfying the prescribed eligibility conditions Eligible candidates can apply till the 10th of January 2023 for the same.
Those who want to appear for the examination are advised to read this article, as we are providing the whole exam-related information and application procedure which is necessary to know before applying for the examination.

KNOW THE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA FOR UPSC CDS 2023
Nationality
(a) Nationality: A candidate must be unmarried and must either be:
(i) a Citizen of India, or
(ii) a subject of Nepal, or
(iii) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka and East African Countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire and Ethiopia or Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Officers' Training Academy | (SSC Women Non-Technical Course) Unmarried women, issueless widows who have not remarried and issueless divorcees (in possession of divorce documents) who have not remarried are eligible. Note:-
1) Graduates with the first choice as Army/Navy/Air Force are to submit proof of Graduation/provisional certificates on the date of commencement of the SSB Interview at the SSB.
2) Candidates who are in their final year of college are also eligible to take the CDS Exam. An authentic graduation certificate must be presented to the board during the SSB interview.
Physical Standards
Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Combined Defence Services Examination (I), 2023 as per guidelines given by the different wings.

To apply for the CDS (1) 2023 Exam, go to the UPSC official website.
You must enter your credentials in the "Part I" section of your application form.
You should first review the eligibility requirements before applying to the academy of your choice. (For example, the Indian Naval Academy, the Indian Air Force Academy, and so on.)
Following "Part A," a registration ID will be generated, and you can proceed to "Part B" of the CDS 1 application form.
Upload all scanned documents and signatures in the format specified. (PDF, JPEG, and so on).
Finally, you must pay the application fee and choose your examination location.
Double-check all details before clicking "Submit."
Keep the generated application number safe and make a copy of the final application form for future reference.

Note:- Fees can be paid by depositing the money in any Branch of SBI by cash, or by using Visa/Master/Rupay Credit/Debit Card/UPI Payment or by using internet banking facility of any Bank.
SELECTION PROCESS OF UPSC CDS (I) 2023
The selection process comprises three phases which include:
STEP 1- The candidate will have to first appear in the written examination. After clearing this stage, he will be called for the next stage.
STEP 2- The next stage to be cleared after the written examination is the SSB interview. SSB interview is divided into two phases. It is a four-five days-long process in which candidates will be tested for different Officer like qualities(OLQ).
STEP 3- Medical Test: Candidates who pass both the interview and the document verification rounds are eligible for the final round, which is the medical test.
UPSC CDS (I) 2023 EXAM PATTERN
The maximum marks allotted to the written examination and to the interviews will be equal for each course i.e. the maximum marks allotted to the written examination and to the interviews will be 300, 300, 300 and 200 each for admission to the Indian Military Academy, Indian Naval Academy, Air Force Academy and Officers’ Training Academy respectively.
The papers in all the subjects will consist of objective-type questions only.
The question papers (Test Booklets) of General Knowledge and Elementary Mathematics will be set bilingually in Hindi as well as English.
Candidates must write the papers in their own hand. In no circumstances will they be allowed the help of a scribe to write answers for them.
The Commission have discretion to fix qualifying marks in any or all the subjects of the examination.
The candidates are not permitted to use calculator for answering objective type papers (Test Booklets). They should not therefore, bring the same inside the Examination Hall.

INTELLIGENCE AND PERSONALITY TEST
The SSB procedure consists of two stage Selection processes - stage I and stage II. Only those candidates who clear stage I are permitted to appear for stage II. The details are:- (a) Stage I comprises Officer Intelligence Rating (OIR) tests are Picture Perception* Description Test (PP&DT). The candidates will be shortlisted based on a combination of performance in the OIR Test and PP&DT.
(b) Stage II Comprises Interview, Group Testing Officer Tasks, Psychology Tests and the Conference. These tests are conducted over 4 days. The details of these tests are given on the website www.joinindianarmy.nic.in.

Fixed Stipend for Cadet Training:-
