NRA’S UPDATE ON AN EXPERT ADVISORY COMMITTEE FOR CET

The National Recruitment Agency (NRA) had earlier announced during the Budget Session for the fiscal year 2020-21 that it will set up an independent, professional and specialist organisation that will conduct a computer-based online Common Eligibility Test (CET) for the recruitment of Non-Gazetted posts.

The CET is intended to shortlist the eligible candidates for certain categories of Central Government jobs that are filled through the Staff Selection Commission (SSC), Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs), and Institute of Banking Personnel Selection (IBPS).

NRA has since formed an Expert Advisory Committeto recommend, among other things, the common Syllabus and scheme for the CET.

NRA officers/officials include the Chairman, Secretary-cum-Controller of Examinations, Director, and Deputy Secretary, among others.

MoS for the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions and MoS in the Prime Minister’s Office, Dr. Jitendra Singh’s written reply in Rajya Sabha.
