A cheetah named Sasha, brought from Namibia, died on March 27 due to kidney disease.

• Sasha was one of the eight cheetahs that were shifted to Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh on 17 September.
• The first batch of cheetahs brought from Namibia to India was released on September 17, 2022 at Kuno National Park in Madhya Pradesh.
• The cheetahs (5 females and 3 males) were brought from Namibia in Africa as part of "Project Cheetah".

On March 28, the first meeting of the G20 Trade and Investment Working Group began in Mumbai, and the conference was inaugurated by Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal.

Important Points:

• The primary objective of India's G20 Presidency is to develop a common understanding of the challenges associated with accelerating global trade and investment and to identify opportunities to achieve human-centered outcomes.
• The three-day meeting was attended by over 100 delegates from G20 member states, invited countries, regional groupings and international organizations.
• The meeting will focus on the role of banks, financial institutions, development finance institutions and export credit agencies in bridging the trade finance gap.
• Experience zones on spices, millets, tea and coffee will be set up and an exhibition on textiles will be displayed during the meeting at the conference venue.

• तीन दिवसीय बैठक में G20 सदस्य देशों, आमंत्रित देशों, क्षेत्रीय समूहों और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय संगठनों के 100 से अधिक प्रतिनिधियों ने भाग लिया। 
• बैठक व्यापार वित्त अंतर को कम करने में बैंकों, वित्तीय संस्थानों, विकास वित्त संस्थानों और निर्यात ऋण एजेंसियों की भूमिका पर ध्यान केंद्रित करेगी।
• सम्मेलन स्थल पर बैठक के दौरान मसालों, बाजरा, चाय और कॉफी पर अनुभव क्षेत्र स्थापित किए जाएंगे और वस्त्रों पर एक प्रदर्शनी लगाई जाएगी।

On March 26, PM Modi inaugurated the new metro line connecting Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura in Bengaluru.

• The new metro line is expected  to reduce travel time and improve connectivity in the area.
• The Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro line is a part of the Namma Metro project in Bengaluru.
• The project was completed at a cost of about  Rs 4,200 crore.

On 27 March 2023, the second meeting of the three-day Environment and Climate Sustainability Working Group was held at the Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Important Points:

• At the beginning of the meeting, G-20 member countries made a presentation on best practices for water resource management.
• The event was attended by around 130 delegates from G20 member states, 11 invited countries and 14 international organisations..
• The meeting focuses on several thematic areas, including halting land degradation, accelerating ecosystem restoration and enriching biodiversity, encouraging resource efficiency and the circular economy, and promoting a sustainable and climate-resilient blue economy.

Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) scientists have discovered a moray eel fish of the genus Gymnothorax off the Cuddalore coast.

• Scientists have named it after the "Tamil Nadu brown moray eel" of Tamil Nadu whose common name is "Gymnothorax tamilnaduensis".
• Researchers from ICAR - National Bureau of Fish Genetic Resources (NBFGR) conducted an exploration along the coastal waters at Parangipettai and Mudasalodai fish landing centers in Cuddalore district.
• With this, new found fish species of Gymnothorax the number has increased to 29, hitherto Indian waters had 28 species of Gymnothorax.
• This new species is found in the Bay of Bengal, south-east coast of India.
• The holotype of this new species is registered at the National Fish Museum and Repository, ICAR-NBFGR, Lucknow.
• The name of the fish species is registered in the Zoobank, the online registration system for the international commission on Zoological Nomenclature (ICZN).

For the first time in the country, ICICI Lombard General Insurance launched 'Cashless Anywhere' facility for health insurance policyholders to avail cashless facilities at any hospital.
