• Aruna Asaf Ali: Known as the Heroine of the 1942 Quit India Movement, she hoisted the Indian National flag at Gowalia Tank Maidan, Bombay, after the arrest of major leaders. She was awarded the Padma Vibhushan in 1992 and the Bharat Ratna (posthumously) in 1997 for her contributions.

• Yusuf Meherally: The phrase 'Quit India' was authored by him. He also coined the iconic slogan "Simon Go Back" during the anti-Simon Commission protests in 1928.
