1. Ishan Kishan the highest priced player at the IPL 2022

Wicket- keeper batsman Ishan Kishan was bought by Mumbai India for Rs 15.25 crores. He became the highest priced player for the 15th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Deepak Chahar was the second highest priced player and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 Crore.

Chris Morris of South Africa , holds the record for being the highest priced player in IPL when Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 16.25 crores in the IPL 2021.
The highest priced Indian player is Yuvraj singh . He was bought by Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) for the IPL 2015 season for Rs. 16 crore.
The IPL 2022 will see the participation of ten teams . The two new teams are
Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans.

Indian Premier League (IPL),
IPL is a twenty-twenty overs professional cricket league organized by Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that was started in India in 2008.
The first season was won by Rajasthan Royals in 2008.
The 14th Season of IPL 2021 was held in the United Arab Emirates which was won by Chennai Super King .
Mumbai Indians is the most successful team in the IPL. It has won the titles 5 times(2013, 2015, 2017, 2019 and 2020) while the second most successful team is Chennai Super King which has won it 4 times(2010, 2011, 2018, and 2021).
2. Ramkumar Ramnathan win Bengaluru Tennis double’s title

Ramkumar Ramnathan won the third doubles title of the year when he and Saket Mayeni won the Bengaluru Open ATP Challenger tennis title at Bengaluru.
The Indian Tennis player defeated the French pair of Hugo Grenier and Alexandre Muller in straight sets .

Chun-hsin Tseng of Chinese Taipei (also known as Taiwan ) defeated Croatian Borna Gojo in straight sets.
3. President unveils the Statue of Swarna Ramanujacharya

President Ramnath Kovind visited Srirama Nagaram in Muchintal ,Hyderabad, Telangana on 13 February 2022. He inaugurated the 120-kg statue of Sri Ramanujacharya made of gold as part of the Sriramanuja Sahastrabdi Samaroh, marking the 1,000 years of the birth of the saint poet at Muchintal in Telangana.
Srirama Nagaram is a place in Muchintal, Hyderabad where 108 Vaishnavite shrines have been set up along with the Statue of Equality.

4. Debashis Mitra elected as the new President of ICAI

Sunil Talati was elected as the Vice-President of the ICAI .

5. Famous Industrialist Rahul Bajaj no more

Noted Industrialist and grandson of noted Gandhian Jamna Lal Bajaj died at the age of 83 in Mumbai on 12 February 2022.
He was the former chairman of the Bajaj group which included Bajaj Auto, Bajaj Finserv . and Bajaj Holdings & Investment. Bajaj scooter “Chetak” was once a household name in India.
He was also a member of the Rajya Sabha from 2006 to 2010.
Rahul Bajaj was awarded with the third-highest civilian award, Padma Bhushan in 2001.
6. Trekker R Babu rescued after nearly 48 hours

- Trekker R.Babu was rescued by the mountaineering team of the Indian Army Southern Command on 9 February 2022, after he was trapped in a cleft on a hill in Kerala’s Palakkad district
- R.Babu who along with his friends went on a trekking trip to climb the Kurumbachi hillock in Malampuzha’s Cherad hill . He slipped off a cliff and was stranded in a steep gorge for around 48 hours before being rescued by the army team.

10. Praveen kumar Sobti “Bheem” no more

Noted athlete and famous TV actor Praveen Kumar Sobti passed away on 8 February 2022 at the age of 74 in Delhi .
Praveen Kumar who started his career as an athlete shot to fame with the portrayal of the character “Bheem” in the B.R Chopra’s Television Serial Mahabharat telecasted in 1988.
Praveen Kumar Sobti became the second Indian athlete after Milkha Singh to win a medal in the Commonwealth games when he won the silver medal in the hammer throw event at the Commonwealth Games held in Kingston, Jamaica 1966.
He also won the gold medal in discus throw and Bronze medal in the hammer throw at the 1966 Asian Games held at Bangkok, Thailand .
Sobti went on to add another gold and silver in discus in successive Asian Games in 1970 Bangkok and 1974 Tehran ,respectively.
He also participated in the 1968 Mexico city Olympics and the Munich 1972 Olympics .
