1. Indian Men’s’ team wins maiden Asian Squash Team Championship Title

The Indian men’s squash team led by Saurav Ghosal won its first ever title at the 21st Asian Squash Team Championships 2022. The Indian team had earlier lost in the final three times but they finally won the title in their fourth final appearance.
The 21st Asian Squash Team Championships was organized by the Asian Squash Federation at Cheongju, South Korea from 31st October to 4 November 2022.
In the final held on 4 November 2022, the Indian men’s team defeated Kuwait 2-0. The Hong Kong and Malaysian teams jointly shared the third position.
Women’s Team Championship
The women's title was won by Hong Kong which defeated Malaysia in the final. The Indian and South Korean team shared the third spot.
Asian Squash Federation
It is the governing body of Squash in Asia. It was founded in 1980 at a meeting in Karachi, Pakistan.

2. Union Environment minister Bhupendra Yadav to lead Indian delegation at the COP27 meeting in Egypt

Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Bhupender Yadav will be leading the Indian delegation to attend the 27th Session of Conference of Parties of the UNFCCC (COP 27) scheduled to be held at Sharm El-Sheikh, Egypt from 6-18 November, 2022. The last , COP 26 was held in Glasgow, United Kingdom from 31 October to 13 November 2021.
The COP 27 conference is being organized by the Bonn, Germany based United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) with Egypt being the host country.
Agenda of the conference
The COP 27 will focus on delivering action on a number of issues critical to tackling the climate emergency like;
- urgently reducing greenhouse gas emissions,
- building resilience and adapting to the inevitable impacts of climate change, and
- delivering on the commitments to finance climate action in developing countries.
The theme of the COP 27 is Delivering for People and Planet.
What is Conference of Parties (COP)?
- The United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED), also known as the 'Earth Summit', was held in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from 3-14 June 1992. The conference focused on the impact of human socio-economic activities on the environment. The countries assembled here agreed to work together to deal with issues of sustainable development and climate change .
- The Rio Earth summit agreed to create the United Nation Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) where the member countries can discuss issues related to global warming and climate change and take steps to deal with these problems .
- It entered into force on 21 March 1994, and has been ratified by 197 countries and territories .
- The countries which has ratified the UNFCCC are called as Parties
- Every year they meet to discuss climate change related issues . These meetings are called Conference of Parties(COP) .
- The first COP was held in 1995 in Berlin, Germany .
- The next COP 27 will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh ,Egypt in 2022.
3. Vice President Dhankhar inaugurates the 15th CII Agro Tech -2022

The Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar inaugurated the 15th CII Agro Tech -2022 at Chandigarh on 4 November 2022. The CII Agro Tech 2022 has been organised by the Confederation of Indian Industries (CII) in partnership with Haryana and Punjab government from 4-7 November 2022.

4. Indonesia officially hands over G-20 Religious forum Presidency to India in Bali

Indonesia on 3 November 2022 handed over the Presidency of the R20 summit, the religious grouping of the Group of 20 Forum, to India which New Delhi will host in 2023.
Indonesia, which is the host country of the 17th G- 20 summit 2022, introduced the R 20(Religion Forum) event as part of the G 20 meeting for the first time. Indonesia has the largest muslim population in the world.
It was held on 2 and 3 November 2022 at Bali to mobilize global leaders to help ensure that religion functions as an open and dynamic source of solutions, rather than problems, in the 21st century.
The R20 Summit was inaugurated by the Indonesian President Joko Widodo.
India will assume the Presidency of the Group of Twenty (or G20) for one year from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023.

G-20 is a group of 19 countries as well as the European Union. 5. “Baji Rout National Football Tournament” inaugurated in Dhenkanal Odisha by Dharmendra Pradhan

Union Minister for Education and Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Dharmendra Pradhan inaugurated the “Baji Rout National Football Tournament in Dhenkanal, Odisha on 3 November 2022.
Speaking on the occasion he said that to promote football in India the government with FIFA and All India Football Federation (AIFF) has launched the 'Football 4 School' initiative.
The minister revealed that the programme has been targeted to rope in about two crore fifty lakh school students towards football. He said that ten lakh footballs will be distributed among the government and private schools in all the districts of the country through the Jawahar Navoday Vidyalaya.
6. India Post Payment Bank launches India’s first Floating Financial Literacy Camp in Srinagar

The Government of India owned India Post Payment Bank (IPPB) launched India’s first floating financial literacy camp around the world-famous Dal Lake of Srinagar, Jammu and Kashmir. The financial literacy camp was organised under the Niveshak Didi or female Dakiya initiative of the IPPB.
Niveshak Didi scheme
Niveshak Didi '' or female dakiya, is a joint initiative of Investor Education and Protection Fund Authority ( IEPFA),Ministry of Corporate Affairs with India Post Payment Bank.
The aim of the scheme is to promote financial and investor education amongst the women.
Trained women agents of the IPPB educate the general female population to develop adequate knowledge, skills, attitude and behaviour which are needed to manage their money better and plan for their future. This is also called as Financial Literacy.
Objectives of Financial Literacy
To promote and strengthen financial inclusion in India, government of India and the four financial sector regulators Reserve Bank of India (RBI), Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) have launched National Strategy for Financial Education.
Currently the 2nd National Strategy for Financial Education (2020-2025) is being implemented in India. It has laid down the following objective to create a financially aware and empowered India:
- Inculcate financial literacy concepts among the various sections of the population through financial education to make it an important life skill
- Encourage active savings behaviour
- Encourage participation in financial markets to meet financial goals and objectives
- Develop credit discipline and encourage availing credit from formal financial institutions as per requirement
- Improve usage of digital financial services in a safe and secure manner
- Manage risk at various life stages through relevant and suitable insurance cover
- Plan for old age and retirement through coverage of suitable pension products
- Knowledge about rights, duties and avenues for grievance redressal
- Improve research and evaluation methods to assess progress in financial education
India Post Payment Bank (IPPB)
It is a payment bank which has been promoted by the Department of Post under the Ministry of Communication, Government of India .
IPPB was launched as a pilot project on 30 January 2017 in Ranchi (Jharkhand) and Raipur (Chhattisgarh).
It was formally launched on 1 September 2018 by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

7. President Murmu inaugurates the permanent Northeast Campus of IIMC in Aizawl

President Droupadi Murmu inaugurated the Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) North East campus located at Aizawl in Mizoram University in virtual mode on 3 November 2022.
The IIMC North East Campus began functioning in 2011 from a temporary building made available by Mizoram University. The construction work for the campus began in 2015 and was completed in 2019.

8. 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Expo 2022 to be held in Kochi, Kerala

The Union Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in collaboration with the Government of Kerala will organise the 15th Urban Mobility India (UMI) Conference & Expo 2022 in Kochi, Kerala from 4-6 November 2022.
