The marathon was inaugurated by Bangladesh Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan.
Among the elite runners, 21 men and 17 women participated in the full and half marathon.
Kenyan runner Stanley Kiprotich Bett became the champion of the marathon with a timing of 2 hours 8 minutes and 10 seconds.
He was followed by another Kenyan runner, Joseph Kayengo Muniwoki, who finished second with a timing of 2 hours 8 minutes and 50 seconds.

India's young batsman Shubman Gill has become the 5th Indian to score a double century in ODIs against New Zealand.

In the match played at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, Shubman Gill scored 208 runs in 149 balls with the help of 19 fours and 9 sixes.

Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated the second phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23 organised in Basti (Uttar Pradesh) district through conferencing on 18 January 2023.
Sansad Khel Mahakumbh is being organised from the year 2021 by Mr. Harish Dwivedi, Lok Sabha MP from Basti.
The first phase of Sansad Khel Mahakumbh 2022-23 was organised from December 10 to December 16, 2022 and the second phase will be organised from January 18 to January 28, 2023.
Both indoor and outdoor sports events like Wrestling, Kabaddi, Kho Kho, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Volleyball, Handball, Chess, Carrom, Badminton, Table Tennis etc. are organised during Sansad Khel Mahakumbh.
Apart from this, competitions for essay writing, painting, making Rangoli etc. are also organised.

It is worth mentioning in this context that the per match value of Indian Premier League (IPL) is Rs 107.5 crore.
The auction process for the media rights of the WIPL took place on January 16, 2023. Disney+ Hotstar, Sony-Zee and Viacom18 were the frontrunners in the race for the media rights of the league, which was finally bagged by Viacom18.
