1. FIFA World Cup 2022 to be played from Nov 20 in Qatar

The FIFA World Cup 2022 will be played in five cities of Qatar from November 20 to December 18, 2022 this year. It is the first Football World Cup to be held in winter, as well as the first Football World Cup to be hosted by an Arab country.

In the inaugural match, hosts Qatar will take on South American country Ecuador at the Al Bayt Stadium on the 20th November.
28 teams have been placed in eight groups, the final will be played at the Lusail Stadium on the 18th of December.
Arsenal's Gabriel Martinelli has been included in the list of 12 players dominated by the English Premier League.
Brazil will start their World Cup campaign against Serbia on 24 November.

Caroline Garcia of France won the WTA (Women Tennis Association) Finals 2022 with a straight-sets victory over Aryna Sabalenka on 7 November 2022.
The season ending WTA tournament in which the top ranked women players participate ,was held at Forth Worth, Texas in the United States of America from 31st October -7 November 2022.
Caroline Garcia is the second Frenchwoman to win the tournament after Amelie Mauresmo in 2005.
Sabalenka was not playing under the Belarus flags as the WTA has suspended the players from Belarus and Russia to participate under their national flags due to the Ukraine war.
Iga Swiatek of Poland finished the 2022 tennis year as the top ranked women player.

It was founded by the legendary women Tennis player Billie Jean King in 1973 as an association of professional women tennis players in the world.

The match ended with a 4:1 victory for Thapa, who has now become the most successful male boxer at the Asian Championships, with 6 competition medals to his name.
Thapa, who had won silver in 2017 and 2021 apart from winning bronze in 2015 and 2019, will be up against 2019 gold medallist Bakhodur Usmonov of Tajikistan in the semi-final.

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on 7 November 2022 announced the winners of the ‘Players of the Month Awards’ for November 2022.
These awards rate the best performances in a particular month from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket.
Male cricketer of the Month
Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was named as the ICC Player of the Month for October 2022.
He beat Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe's and South Africa's David Miller for the award.
According to the ICC the 33-year-old Kohli batted in only four innings in October but he played out three memorable knocks, including a magical 82* against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.

10. ‘Pramod Bhagat’ and Manisha wins gold medal at the BWF Para World Championships 2022

Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat and teenager Manisha Ramadass won gold for India at the BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2022. The BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2022 for badminton players with disabilities was held in Tokyo, Japan from 1-6 November 2022.
Pramod Bhagat who won the gold medal at the 2019 edition of the BWF Para Badminton World Championship, successfully defended his singles title by defeating Nitesh Kumar of India in the SL3 category.
17 year old Manisha Ramadass won her first gold medal at the event by defeating Japanese Mamiko Toyoda in the women's singles SU5 finals.
India ended the championship with 16 medals.
