In the final match played at Narendra Modi Cricket Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujarat Titans defeated Rajasthan Royals by 7 wickets to win the 15th edition of IPL.
Gujarat Titans achieved the distinction of becoming the champions in their debut season of IPL.
The tournament was played from 26 March 2022 to 29 May 2022 at Wankhede Stadium, Brabourne Stadium, DY Patil Stadium, MCA International Stadium in Maharashtra state.
10 teams participated in IPL 2022 for the second time after IPL 2011.
Lucknow SuperGiants is owned by RPSG Group and Gujarat Titans is owned by CVC Capital.
IPL was started by the BCCI in 2008 and the first IPL title was won by Rajasthan Royals under the captaincy of Shane Warne.
In IPL, Mumbai Indians have won the most (5), Chennai Super Kings (4), Kolkata Knight Riders (2), Rajasthan Royals, Deccan Chargers, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Gujarat Titans 1-1 times.

2. Jay Shah term as ACC president extended by One year

Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Jay Shah's tenure as president of the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) was extended by one more year till 2024 ,at the Asian Cricket Council (ACC) meeting held in Colombo on 19 March 2022.
Shah had taken over as the president of the ACC in January last year from Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) president Nazmul Hassan, making him the youngest administrator to be re-appointed as ACC president.

3. Ishan Kishan the highest priced player at the IPL 2022

Wicket- keeper batsman Ishan Kishan was bought by Mumbai India for Rs 15.25 crores. He became the highest priced player for the 15th Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Deepak Chahar was the second highest priced player and he was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 14 Crore.

Chris Morris of South Africa , holds the record for being the highest priced player in IPL when Rajasthan Royals bought him for Rs 16.25 crores in the IPL 2021.

1. Perfect ten for Ajaz Patel
- New Zealand bowler Ajaz Patel became the third player in the history of test Cricket to take all ten wickets in an innings.

Lewis Hamilton of Mercedes team won the Saudi Arabia Formula 1 racing title at Jeddah. He is from Great Britain.
