The initiative involves the State Tuberculosis Cell, Municipal Corporations of Peerzadiguda, Boduppal, and Pocharam in Medchal Malkajgiri district, Central TB Division, WHO India, USAID, and other stakeholders.
Multi-stakeholder engagement is a key component of the project.
Objectives and Implementation
The project aims to achieve TB-free municipalities by addressing social determinants that impact the TB burden through an innovative approach involving surveillance, prevention, and a complete cascade of quality TB care.
The model will be implemented over three years in the urban settings of Peerzadiguda, Boduppal, and Pocharam Municipal Corporations.
The goal is to reduce TB incidence by one third and decrease TB-related mortality.
The project will provide free medical care to TB patients and offer counselling for their family members.

3. Haryana Launches IT Saksham Yuva Scheme 2024 to Create 5,000 Jobs and Empower Youth

The Haryana government has introduced the IT Saksham Yuva Scheme 2024 to enhance youth empowerment and employment.

The scheme's initial phase aims to create 5,000 job opportunities for young individuals.
This initiative is part of the broader Mission 60,000, announced by former Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, which aims to employ at least 60,000 youths from underprivileged backgrounds.
Graduates and post-graduates with IT backgrounds will undergo a short-term course called the Haryana IT Programme, lasting a minimum of three months.
After completing the course, participants will be placed in various state departments, boards, corporations, or private entities.
Participants will receive Rs 20,000 per month for the first six months, increasing to Rs 25,000 per month from the seventh month onwards.
If a participant is not deployed, the government will provide an unemployment allowance of Rs 10,000 per month.
Training Agencies
Training will be provided by agencies such as Haryana State Electronics Development (HARTRON), Haryana Knowledge (HKCL), and Shri Vishwakarma Skill University (SVSU), with SVSU issuing completion certificates as per Haryana Skill Development Mission (HSDM) norms.

The scheme is designed to prepare young people for careers in the digital workforce, equipping them with essential skills and ensuring suitable employment opportunities.
The IT Saksham Yuva Scheme aims to address youth unemployment and bridge the gap between education and employment for IT graduates and post-graduates.

Characteristics of Phlogacanthus Sudhansusekharii
Phlogacanthus Sudhansusekharii belongs to the family Acanthaceae and the genus Phlogacanthus.
It is closely related to Phlogacanthus Guttatus (Wall) Nees, but can be distinguished by differences in the calyx form and size, staminodes, and corona color.
In India, the Phlogacanthus genus comprises 13 species, predominantly found in the northeastern and eastern Himalayan states.

Dogfish, a small shark species, are highly sought after for their fins, liver oil, and meat, often being caught as bycatch by fishermen.
The new species, Squalus hima, stands out due to its distinctive morphological features.

Research and Surveys
A total of 13 specimens were collected from the southwest coast of India during surveys conducted up to 1000 meters along the coastline.
These surveys, part of the Deep Ocean Mission conducted by the Ministry of Earth Sciences, aimed to understand the diversity of deep-sea sharks in the region.
The taxonomic re-evaluation of the genus Squalus in the Indo-Pacific and other regions has led to the discovery of many previously undescribed species, contributing significantly to marine biology.
