The third T20 World Cup Cricket Tournament for the Blind will be held from December 5 to 17, 2022 in India.
Important facts
The participating countries of the World Cup 2022 are Australia, Bangladesh, Nepal, Pakistan, South Africa, Sri Lanka and India.
Around 150 players from all countries will participate in the tournament and there will be a total of 24 matches across nine cities in India.
The tournament is being organised to mark the World Disability Day celebrations universally.
The inauguration of the World Cup on December 5 at Tau Devi Lal Indoor Stadium, Gurugram.
Former India batter Yuvraj Singh is the brand ambassador of the tournament.
About T20 World Cup cricket tournament for Blind
Cricket World Cup for the Disabled is an initiative of the Cricket Association for the Blind in India (CABI) in association with Samarthanam Trust.
This championship has been organised since 2012.
Since its inception, Samarthanam Trust has organized over 30,000 visually impaired matches.
2. NADA India to host Inclusion Conclave for the first time to focus on athletes with disabilities on 2nd December 2022
India will host an Inclusion Conclave for the first time which will focus on anti-doping education and process for athletes with disabilities. The Conclave organised by the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA India) with the help of WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency) Asia-Oceania office, will be held on 2 December 2022 in New Delhi.
The conclave will focus on developing a policy and legal framework on anti-doping as well as on educating the disable athletes on the anti -doping process and controls.
Doping in sports means the use of unauthorized drugs by the athletes to enhance their performance in sports.
National Anti-Doping Agency or NADA
The National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) is the national organization responsible for promoting, coordinating, and monitoring the doping control program in sports in all its forms in the country. It is the member of the World Anti-Doping Agency.

3. Stephanie Frappart of France to be first woman referee at men's World Cup

FIFA has announced on 29 November 2022 that Stephanie Frappart of France will be the first woman to referee a men’s’ World Cup match. She will officiate the match to be played between Germany and Costa Rica in Group E on 2 December 2022.
France's Stephanie Frappart is one of three women referees among the 36 selected for the tournament in Qatar, alongside Rwandan Salima Mukansanga and Japan's Yoshimi Yamashita.
She was the first woman to referee in France's domestic Ligue 1 in 2019, the same year she took charge of the women's World Cup final in her home country.
Frappart also officiated the 2019 UEFA Super Cup final between Liverpool and Chelsea, before refereeing the Champions League in 2020 and then the French Cup final last season.
The FIFA World Cup 2022 is being held in Qatar from 20 November to 18 December 2022.
4. Government announces “Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards’ for year 2021

The Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports has announced the name of the winners of the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Awards for the year 2021. The Ministry announced the National sports awards winner list on 14 November 2022 but the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award winners' names were not announced.

No one was chosen for the Air Adventure category.
They will be conferred the award by President Droupadi Murmu at a function in Rashtrapati Bhawan, New Delhi on 30th November, 2022 along with the winners of other National sports awards .
They will receive statuettes, certificates and award money 15 lakh rupees each.
Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award
It was set up in 1994 in the memory of Tenzing Norgay. He is an Indian of Nepali origin who along with a New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary scaled Mount Everest on 29 May 1953.
The award is given in adventure sports like mountaineering, skydiving, and open water swimming.
5. Rituraj Gaikwad smashes 7 sixes in an over to make world record

On 28 November, Rituraj Gaikwad, playing for Maharashtra, became the first batsman in List-A cricket to hit 7 sixes in an over in the quarter-finals of the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Gaikwad made this record against Uttar Pradesh in Ahmedabad.
He remained unbeaten after scoring 220 runs off 159 balls. This is his first double century in List-A cricket, before that 187 not out was his best score.
This is also his sixth century in the last 8 innings of Vijay Hazare Trophy.
In the 49th over of the innings, he scored 43 runs including 7 sixes on left arm spinner Shiva Singh.

The Indian boxers ended their campaign in the IBA (International Boxing Association) Youth Men's and Women's World Championships 2022 with 11 medals with Ravina winning a gold while Kirti had to settle for the silver medal on the final day of the championship. The Indian won 4 gold medals, 3 silver medals and 4 bronze medals.
In the final day of the championships 2022 Asian Youth gold medallist Ravina (63Kg) won the gold medal for India by defeating Megan deCler of the Netherlands.
Kirti (81+kg) lost her final match against the 2022 European Youth champion Cliona Elizabeth D’Arcy of Ireland, and secured the silver medal.

10. Indian team dominates the USIC International Railway Sports Association Table Tennis Championship

The Indian table tennis player dominated the USIC International Railway Sports Association Table Tennis Championship played at Jaipur from 21st November to 25th November 2022. The Indian players won a total of 14 medals, 6 gold, and 4 silver and 4 bronze medals.
Total five teams from the Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Switzerland and India participated in this prestigious Championship.
