Star Indian batter Suryakumar Yadav on 6 November became the first Indian player to score 1,000 T20 International runs in a calendar year.
Important facts
Suryakumar Yadav scored an unbeaten 61 off 26 balls against Zimbabwe at the Melbourne Cricket Ground and achieved this feat.
In 28 innings this year, Suryakumar has scored 1,026 runs at an average of 44.60.
One century and nine half-centuries have come out of his bat, with the best score of 117 in the year 2022.
He has scored these runs at a strike rate of 186.24.
He is only the second player in T20 International history to score 1,000 runs in a calendar year.
In 2021, Pakistan wicketkeeper-batsman Mohammad Rizwan scored 1,326 runs at an average of 73.66.
Rizwan scored a century and 12 half-centuries in 2021 with a score of 104 (not out).

The International Cricket Council (ICC), on 7 November 2022 announced the winners of the ‘Players of the Month Awards’ for November 2022.
These awards rate the best performances in a particular month from both male and female cricketers across all forms of international cricket.
Male cricketer of the Month
Former Indian cricket captain Virat Kohli was named as the ICC Player of the Month for October 2022.
He beat Sikandar Raza of Zimbabwe's and South Africa's David Miller for the award.
According to the ICC the 33-year-old Kohli batted in only four innings in October but he played out three memorable knocks, including a magical 82* against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup.

Rune took the decisive lead, leaving 35-year-old Serbian Djokovic behind. Rune stopped Djokovic from winning a record 39th Masters title.
The 19-year-old Rune, who is the former junior doubles partner of top-order Carlos Alcaraz, saved six break points in the match.
Rune became the youngest-ever Paris Masters champion since Boris Becker, who at the time was 18 years old, having won in 1986.
Rune's victory also ensured that he would be the first Danish player after nearly 50 years to be ranked in the top 10.

6. ‘Pramod Bhagat’ and Manisha wins gold medal at the BWF Para World Championships 2022

Paralympic champion Pramod Bhagat and teenager Manisha Ramadass won gold for India at the BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2022. The BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2022 for badminton players with disabilities was held in Tokyo, Japan from 1-6 November 2022.
Pramod Bhagat who won the gold medal at the 2019 edition of the BWF Para Badminton World Championship, successfully defended his singles title by defeating Nitesh Kumar of India in the SL3 category.
17 year old Manisha Ramadass won her first gold medal at the event by defeating Japanese Mamiko Toyoda in the women's singles SU5 finals.
India ended the championship with 16 medals.
7. Mohammad Tayyab Ikram of Macau elected the new President of FIH

Mohammad Tayyab Ikram of Macau was elected as the new President of the International Hockey Federation (FIH) on 5 November 2022. He is also at present the Chief Executive Officer of the Asian Hockey Federation.
The 48th Congress of the FIH, which was held virtually on 4th and 5th of November, voted on the 5th November to elect a new President of the FIH. The election was necessitated due to the resignation of the earlier president Narinder Batra on 18 July 2022.
Mohammad Tayyab Ikram defeated Marc Coudron of Belgium to become the new President of FIH.
Term of the new President
The term of the FIH president is 4 years . However the term of the newly elected President Mohammad Tayyab Ikram will be of two years.
The Previous President Narinder Batra had to resign in 2022 after the Delhi High Court judgement against him . His term of FIH was to end in 2024 . Hence the new Resident will be of two years to complete the remaining period of Narinder Batra.

8. Kotian, Sarfaraz stars in the Mumbai first Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy

A power packed performance from Sarfraz Khan and Tanush Kotian propelled Mumbai cricket team to its maiden Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy. The Mumbai team beat Himachal Pradesh by 3 wickets in the final played at the Eden Garden Stadium, Kolkata on 5 November 2022. Sarfaraz scored an unbeaten 36 off 31 balls, while Kotian claimed three wickets as Mumbai lifted the trophy at the Eden Gardens.
The Mumbai team led by Ajinkaya Rahane won the toss and invited Himachal to bat first. The Himachal team made 143 for the loss of 8 wickets in the allotted 20 overs.
The Mumbai team achieved the target with a score of 146 for the loss of 7 wickets and won the match by 3 wickets.
Tanush Kotia was declared as the player of the match.
Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy
The Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy is organized by the BCCI (Board for Control of Cricket in India). It is a premier domestic T20 cricket tournament which was launched in 2006-07 season.
Initially it was named as T20 Inter- State Championship but it was renamed later as Syed Mushtaq Ali trophy.
Tamil Nadu has won it maximum 3 times.
9. Indian Men’s’ team wins maiden Asian Squash Team Championship Title

The Indian men’s squash team led by Saurav Ghosal won its first ever title at the 21st Asian Squash Team Championships 2022. The Indian team had earlier lost in the final three times but they finally won the title in their fourth final appearance.
The 21st Asian Squash Team Championships was organized by the Asian Squash Federation at Cheongju, South Korea from 31st October to 4 November 2022.
In the final held on 4 November 2022, the Indian men’s team defeated Kuwait 2-0. The Hong Kong and Malaysian teams jointly shared the third position.
Women’s Team Championship
The women's title was won by Hong Kong which defeated Malaysia in the final. The Indian and South Korean team shared the third spot.
Asian Squash Federation
It is the governing body of Squash in Asia. It was founded in 1980 at a meeting in Karachi, Pakistan.

10. Kerala to host Track Asia Cup 2022

Track Asia Cup-2022, one of the premier cycling competitions, will be held at the LNCPE Outdoor Velodrome in Kerala from November 25 to 28.
Important facts
The event will see participation of over 200 cyclists from over 25 Asian countries and will be held outside Delhi for the first time in history.
It is authorised by the Asian Cycling Confederation and Cycling Federation of India.
The Track Asia Cup is also used to select Asian countries for the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
The highlight of the event will be the participation of cycling stalwarts from China, Japan, Korea and Kazakhstan.
Apart from these countries, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Afghanistan, Pakistan and Indonesia will compete with India.

It is a flagship event of the Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC).
It showcases excellent competitive cycling exhibitions across Asia.
