The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) has announced a 48-member Indian Rifle and Pistol team for the upcoming ISSF World Championship in Cairo, Egypt.

London Olympics silver medalist Vijay Kumar is returning for his first international event after four years.
He will face Anish Bhanwala and Vijayveer in the Rapid Fire Pistol Squad.
World Championships silver medalist in air rifle Olympian Anjum Moudgil will compete in the rifle three positions event.

Former India goalkeeper from West Bengal Kalyan Choubey became the AIFF President on 2 September 2022 by defeating legendary football player Bhaichung Bhutia in the All India Football Federation (AIFF) elections.

- In the 85-year history of AIFF, Choubey is the first person to become the president after a player.
He has played as a goalkeeper for Mohun Bagan and East Bengal. Bhutia and Choubey were once teammates in East Bengal.

- She achieved this feat in the women's 200m butterfly at the 8th edition of the FINA World Junior Swimming Championships 2022 being held in Lima, Peru.
The only other Indian to qualify for the final at the World Juniors is Srihari Nataraja who finished sixth in the 50m backstroke in 2019.
In the heats, Fernandes finished fourth with a time of 2:18:18, and finished 8th overall to make her place in the final.
He set a new national record.
Earlier, the record stood at 2:18:39, which was set by Apeksha at the Junior Nationals held in June 2022.

On the occasion of National Sports Day, Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, Pushkar Singh Dhami has launched Mukhyamantri Udyman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana in the state.
IMPORTANT FACTS -
- Under the scheme sports scholarships of Rs 1500 will be provided every month to the players between the age group of 8 to 14 years.
A total of 3900 budding sports persons will benefit from Mukhyamantri Udyman Khiladi Unnayan Yojana, in which 1950 boys and 1950 girls will be included.
Other announcements made by the Chief Minister on this occasion :
The Chief Minister said that a sports development fund would be set up in the state. Under this, eight sports coaches will be appointed in each district.
The Malkhamb game will be included in sports policy.
Along with this, the contract trainers in the Sports Department will be given the same honorarium as the contract trainers of the Sports Authority of India.
He also announced efforts to re-implement four percent reservation for skilled sportspersons in state services.
