1. Anirban Lahiri makes history in Golf

Anirban Lahiri became the first Indian golfer to finish runner-up in the Players Championship at Florida, United States. The PGA (Professional Golf Association) Players Championship title was won by the Australian golfer, Cameron Smith.
Anirban Lahiri won $2.18 million prize money. His ranking jumped to a career best 89 in the world.
The only Indian who has won a PGA title is Arjun Atwal,who won the 2010 Wyndham Championship held in the United States of America.

3. India wins test series against Sri Lanka 2-0

India comfortably won the two test series against the visiting Sri Lankan cricket team. The Indian team was captained by Rohit Sharma and Dimuth Karunaratne was the captain of the Sri Lankan side.
The 2-0 series win followed the 3-0 sweep of the T20I series by India.

4. India wins 16th Asian junior women's handball championship gold

India won gold in the Asian junior women’s handball championship defeating Thailand in their last match in Almaty, Kazakhstan on 14 March 2022.
The tournament was played on a round robin basis, where the team which earned the highest points was declared the winner.
Iranian team came second and Kazakhstan came third.
The 16th edition of the Asian junior women’s handball championship was held from 7 to 14 March 2022.
The Indian team has also qualified for the World Junior women’s handball championship to be held in Slovenia in June-July 2022.
The Asian junior women’s handball championship is held every two years.
5. Rishab Pant scores India’s fastest fifty in Test Match
The wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant made history by scoring the fastest half-century by an Indian cricketer in the history of Tests during Day 2 of the Bengaluru Test against the Sri Lankans on 13 March 2022.
He scored his fifty in 28 balls beating the record of Kapil Dev who scored 50 runs in 30 balls against Pakistan in the Karachi test in 1982. He was eventually out at the score of 50.
The world record is held by Pakistani batsmen Misbah-ul who scored 50 runs in a test match against Australia in Abu Dhabi in 2014 in 21 balls.

6. Lakshya Sen loses the German open Badminton final

World Championship bronze medallist Lakshya Sen lost to Thailand's Kunlavut Vitidsarn in the final of the German Open Super 300 badminton tournament on 13 March 2022.
The German open was held in the German city of Mulheim.
Lakshya Sen is ranked 12th in the world while the Thailand player Kunlavut Vitidsarn is ranked 20th in the world.
7. India tops the medal table at the World Shooting Championships

India topped the medal table at the recently concluded ISSF (International Shooting Sports Federation) Rifle/Pistol world cup in Cairo, Egypt .
The event was held from 28 February to 8 March 2022.
India won a total of 7 medals:4 Gold medals, 2 Silver medals and 1 Bronze medals.
Norway came second with a total of 6 medals: 3 Gold medals, 1 Silver medals and 2 Bronze medals .

8. India Defeats Denmark to stay in the Davis cup World group stage 1

The Indian men’s tennis team defeated Denmark 4-0 in their Davis Cup 2022 World Group I playoff tie played at the Delhi Gymkhana Club on 5-6 March 2022.
The best of five match was won by India 4-0 and the fifth match was not played.
Ramkumar Ramanathan and Yuki Bhambri won their singles title matches and Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan won their doubles ties.
Later Ramkumar Ramnathan won his return singles match,to make it 4-0 for India.
India have made it to the Davis Cup final thrice – 1966, 1974 and 1987 but it has never won the title .

9. Divya Deshmukh is the National women chess champion

16 years old Divya Deshmukh of Maharashtra won the 47th MPL National women chess title on 2 March 2022.
The National Chess championship was held at Bhubaneshwar, Odisha.
It was her first senior level chess title.
Sakshi Chitalange came second and N. Priyanka came at the third position.
10. Novelist Madhu Kankariya wins Bihari Puraskar 2021
Author Madhu Kankariya has been chosen for the 31st Bihari Puraskar for her 2018 novel ‘Hum Yahan The’.
The Bihari award is given by the K.K.Birla foundation every year for outstanding work published in the last 10 years by a Rajasthani author in Hindi or Rajasthani
The award carries a cash prize of ₹2.5 lakh, a plaque and a citation.
Among books written by the 64-year-old Madhu Kankariya are Pattakhor, Khule Gagan ke Laal Sitaare, Salaam Aakhri and Bhaari Dupahr ke Andhere.
The 2020 Bihari puraskar was given to Mohankrishna Bohara for his work ‘Taslima: Sangharsh aur Sahitya’
K.K. Birla Prize
K.K.Birla foundation was established by Krishna Kumar Birla in 1991 . It aims to promote literature, especially Hindi literature . Every year it gives literature award for works published in the last ten years

The most recent 30th awardee was Marathi author Sharankumar Limbale for his work ”Sanatan” in marathi, in 2020.
