Union Home Minister Amit Shah inaugurated the construction of 'Balidan Stambh' in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar on 24 June.

The opening ceremony took place at a park near Lal Chowk, the commercial centre of Srinagar.
The 'Sacrifice Pillar' is a monument that is being built as part of the Srinagar Smart City project.
The aim of the memorial is to honour the courageous martyrs who made the supreme sacrifice for the country.
