India registers biggest win in ODI history against Sri Lanka

India beat Sri Lanka by 317 runs in the third ODI at the Greenfield International Stadium in Thiruvananthapuram to register the biggest win by runs in ODI history.

• Batting first in this match, India scored 390 runs in 50 overs losing five wickets. In response, the Sri Lankan team could only manage 73 runs in 22 overs.

• India also made a clean sweep of Sri Lanka 3-0 in the 3-match series.

• Earlier this record was in the name of New Zealand who defeated Ireland by 290 runs in 2008.

• Earlier, the biggest win of the Indian team was 257 runs, which they achieved against Bermuda in 2007.
