India Shines at Under-17 Asian Wrestling Championships with 11 Medals, Including Four Golds

The Under-17 Asian Wrestling Championships in Amman, Jordan, saw India's young contingent secure a total of 11 medals.
An Overview of the News
The Under-17 championship took place from June 22 to June 24, 2024. Following its conclusion, the Under-23 championship commenced.
The medal haul included four gold, two silver, and five bronze medals.
Women wrestlers dominated with all four gold medals: Dipanshi (46 kg), Muskan (53 kg), Rajnita (61 kg), and Mansi Lather (69 kg).
Raja Bala showed strong performance but settled for silver in the 40 kg category.
In the men's category, Samarth Gajanan Mhakave won silver in the 55 kg division.
Bronze medals were claimed by Akash (65 kg), Sachin Kumar (71 kg), Bikash Kacchap (48 kg), Tushar Tukaram Patil (60 kg), and Ronak (110 kg).
India at U23 & U17 Asian Wrestling Championships 2023:
Medals: India clinched 44 medals - 13 gold, 13 silver, and 18 bronze.
Participants: 60 Indian wrestlers competed across men’s freestyle, women’s freestyle, and men’s Greco-Roman categories.
Event Details: Held in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan from June 10 to 18, 2023.
Categories: Each age group (U23 & U17) featured 10 weight divisions in freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling.
