Dr. Bidhan Chandra Roy was born on 1st July 1882 and died on the same day in 1962.
He played many roles like a politician, a freedom fighter and a supporter of education.
The day is dedicated to honouring the contribution and dedication of doctors towards the betterment of society and healthcare.
