- Teacher's Day is the birth anniversary of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Dr. Radhakrishnan was born on September 5, 1888, he was the first Vice President and second President of India.
He is known for his remarkable work as a teacher, philosopher and scholar.
Since 1962, 5th September has been celebrated as Teacher's Day in India to honour Radhakrishnan's remarkable vision towards education and students.
On this day, students show their respect to teachers in their own way.
World Teacher's Day is celebrated on 5 October every year.
In the year 1994, UNESCO recognized the celebration of 5 October as World Teacher's Day to appreciate the work of teachers.
