Former Indian men's hockey team captain and veteran goalkeeperzz, Parattu Raveendran Sreejesh (PR Sreejesh) won the prestigious World Games Athlete of the Year award for 2021.
He is the second Indian after Indian women’s hockey team captain Rani Ramphal to win this award.
Rani Ramphal won this award in 2020.
He got 1,27,647 votes in a poll conducted on TheWorldGames.Org . He got the maximum fan votes amongst the 24 nominees.
In second place was Spain's Sport Climbing ace Albert Ginés Lopez, who got 67,428 votes.
