‘SVANidhi se Samriddhi’ launched in additional 126 cities

Shri Manoj Joshi, Secretary, Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) today launched ‘SVANidhi se Samriddhi’ program in additional 126 cities across 14 States/ UTs, in the presence of senior officials of States/UTs and various Central Ministries.

Svanidhi Se Samridhi:

• 'Svanidhi Se Samridhi' is an additional scheme of PMSVANIDHI which was launched on 4 January 2021 in Phase-I in 125 cities covering around 35 lakh street vendors and their families.

• Also, 22.5 lakh schemes have been approved, which include Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, 16 lakh insurance benefits under Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Yojana and 2.7 lakh pension benefits under Pradhan Mantri Shram Yogi Maandhan Yojana.

• The objective of this scheme is not only to give loans to street vendors, but also their overall development and economic upliftment.
