1. Monika Batra become the first Indian women to win a medal at the Asian Cup Table Tennis

Manika Batra became the first Indian women player to win a medal at the Asian cup Table Tennis tournament. She defeated world No. 6 Hina Hayata of Japan in the women’s singles bronze medal match in Bangkok, Thailand on 19 November 2022.
She became the 2nd Indian player to win a medal at the Asia Cup Table Tennis. Before her, Chetan Baboor won silver in 1997 and bronze in 2000.
The other Indian player Sathiyan Gnanasekaran, India’s top-ranked men’s singles player and India’s national champion Sharath Kamal were knocked out in the opening round of men’s singles.
The three-day competition (17-19 November) was organised by the International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) and Asian Table Tennis Union (ATTU) at the Huamark Indoor Stadium in Bangkok, Thailand.
The Asia Cup Table tennis is an annual tournament which has been organized since 1983. The 2020 and 2021 editions were not held because of Covid-19.
2. Hyderabad host Street Circuit Car Racing before the India’s first Formula E grand Prix to be held in February 2023

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and the Indian Racing League (IRL) are jointly organising India’s first ever Street Circuit Car Racing at Hyderabad on 19 and 20 November 2022.
At least 22 electric racing cars are taking part in the trial run to ensure that the track is fit for the forthcoming Formula E race and all the requirements are met as per the FIA specifications.
HMDA and IRL will hold a first-ever Formula E World Championship race in India at Hyderabad, to be held on 10 and 11 February 2023.
Formula E race is a single-seater motor racing championship where the drivers compete in single-seater cars built by Italian constructor Wolf Racing using Aprilia engines.
3. IAF Air Fest 2022 organised at Vayusena Nagar in Nagpur

The Indian Air Force annual show, Air Fest 2022 commenced with a visually stunning and breath-taking performances of the Air Force’s planes & helicopters at Headquarters Maintenance Command, Vayusena Nagar in Nagpur on 19 November 2022.
The Air Fest is being conducted as a part of the 'Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav'. The objective of the Air Fest is to showcase various facets of the Indian Air Force and motivate the youth of Nagpur to choose the Indian Air Force for an exciting career.

4. Vice President Dhankhar to attend FIFA men's world cup 2022 opening ceremony in Qatar

According to a release from the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar will represent India at the inauguration of the 22nd Men’s FIFA World Cup in Qatar on 20 November 2022. Vice President Dhankhar will be visiting Qatar on November 20-21 at the invitation of Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar.
The 60,000-capacity Al Bayt Stadium in Al Khor will host the opening ceremony on 20 November 2022 just before the first match between host Qatar and Ecuador.
According to the MEA, besides attending the inaugural ceremony of the football World Cup, the vice president will also interact with members of the Indian community during his visit.

- The name of the football to be used during the world cup is Al Rihla. Al Rihla means “Journey” in Arabic.
- It has been made by the German multinational company Adidas.
- It is the 14th successive time that a ball made by Adidas will be used in the FIFA world cup.
- Al-Rihla is the first FIFA World cup ball to be made exclusively with water based inks and glues.

The Institute of Chartered Accountant of India (ICAI) is hosting the 21st World Congress of Accountants 2022(WCOA) at the Jio World Centre, Mumbai, from November 18-21, 2022 in a Hybrid mode. WCOA 2022 is being held in hybrid mode for the first time ever in the Congress’s history.

6. BASIC group ministerial meeting held at the COP27 in Egypt

The Ministers of Brazil, South Africa, India and China (BASIC group) met on 15 November 2022 at the 27th Conference of Parties (COP 27) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
The meeting was chaired by the South African Environment minister Barbara Creecy and was attended by the Indian Environment minister Bhupendra Yadav, Brazilian Environment minister Joaquim Leite, Chinese special envoy on Climate change XIE Zhenhua.
Currently South Africa is the chairman of the BASIC group and it rotates annually amongst the member countries.
The ministers pledged their full support to the Egyptian COP27 Presidency for a successful conference. They emphasised the principle of common but different responsibilities and respective capabilities, in light of national circumstances.
They expressed concern that the developed countries are not keeping up their promise of providing USD 100 billion per year financial aid to the Developing countries to deal with the adverse effect of climate change. In the 15th Conference of Parties meeting at Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009. The developed countries had promised such aid to the developing countries.
BASIC Group
The BASIC Group of countries was formed by India, Brazil, South Africa and China in November 2009 just before the 15th Conference of Parties (COP) meeting at Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009.
The group was formed so as to collectively bargain with the Developed countries on issues such as reduction of greenhouse gasses and need of climate financing.
Brazil, South Africa, India and China together have one-third of the world's geographical area and nearly 40% of the world’s population.
China is the largest emitter of Carbon dioxide in the world and India is the third largest .The United States is the second largest emitter of Carbon dioxide in the world.
7. India participates in ‘4th meeting of Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan’ held in Russia

India participated in the fourth meeting of the Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan held in Moscow on 16 November 2022. Special Envoys and Senior Officials from Russia, China, Pakistan, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan also participated in the meeting.
According to the External Affairs Ministry, the participants discussed issues related to Afghanistan. These include the current humanitarian situation and the ongoing efforts of various stakeholders to provide assistance, intra-Afghan talks, formation of an inclusive and representative government, efforts to counter threats of terrorism and ensuring regional security.
Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan
The Moscow Format Consultations on Afghanistan, launched in 2017, is a regional platform on Afghanistan involving the special envoys of Russia, Afghanistan, India, Iran, China, and Pakistan.
Its mandate is to facilitate political reconciliation between the then-internationally backed Kabul government and the Taliban, establish peace, and ensure regional security.
8. Manipur tops the medal table as the 2nd edition of North East Olympic Games concludes in Shillong

The 2nd Edition of the North East Olympics games concluded on 16 November 2022 at the Meghalaya’s capital Shillong. The week-long (10-16 November) Olympic Games was dominated by the North East sports powerhouse Manipur.
The Games was organised by the government of Meghalaya and the state Olympic Association under the aegis of Northeast Olympic Association.
Arunachal Pradesh was to host the second edition of the Games in 2019 but there was a change of plan following the Covid-19 pandemic and Shillong was named the host city.
The first North East Olympics games was held in Manipur in 2018 and the third edition will be held in Nagaland.
Final Medal position
Manipur emerged as the overall team champion with a total of 240 medals which included 88 gold medals, 75 silver and 77 bronze medals.
Assam took the second spot with a total of 203 medals which included 79 gold medals, 61 silver and 63 bronze medals.
Arunachal Pradesh got the third spot from the host State with a total of 112 medals which included 39 gold, 36 silver and 37 bronze medals.
Meghalaya was at the 4th spot followed by Nagaland at the 5th, Mizoram at 6th, Tripura at 7th and Sikkim was at the last position.
In this one week long edition of the sporting event, about 3000 participants from all around the North East states competed in 18 disciplines like football, shooting, basketball and others at 12 venues spread across Shillong.
9. 20th National Maritime Search & Rescue Board meeting of the Coast Guard held in Gujarat

The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) conducted the 20th National Maritime Search and Rescue (NMSAR) Board meeting at Kevadia, Gujarat on November 18, 2022. The apex level meeting was chaired by Director General of the Coast Guard VS Pathania who is also the Chairman of NMSAR Board.
During the meeting, Shri VS Pathania launched the National Maritime Search and Rescue Plan-2022. It serves as a policy document for all the participating agencies & stakeholders for directing an integrated and coordinated approach towards the functioning of the M-SAR system.
The NMSAR Board, comprising 31 members from various central ministries/agencies, members of the Armed Forces, all Coastal States & Union Territories, meets annually to discuss policy issues, formulate guidelines & procedures, and assess the efficacy of National Maritime Search and Rescue Plan and services for mariners and fishermen in the vast 4.6 million sq km of Indian Search and Rescue Region (ISRR).
The Indian Coast Guard which comes under the Union Ministry of Defence and Its main role is to prevent seaborne smuggling of goods, to ensure the safety and protection of the islands, and to provide protection and assistance to the Indian fishermen and mariners at the high seas.
10. Anandiben Patel inaugurates the 104th Annual Conference of the Indian Currency Council and Currency Fair in Lucknow

Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel inaugurated the 104th Annual Conference of the Indian Currency Council and Currency Fair held at the State Museum in the premises of the International Buddhist Institute, Gomtinagar, Lucknow. On this occasion, the Governor said that currency is the reflection of the culture and civilization of any country. This gives information about the history and economy of the time, due to which our future generations get the knowledge of our rich culture.
The Governor said that the dates and markings found on the coins are a powerful medium of information about the history and culture of that period, because the coins reflect contemporary religion, philosophy and social life.
She announced to keep a coin album in Raj Bhavan. On this occasion, the Governor released a souvenir based on the compilation of research papers.
