46-year-old former Australia all-rounder Andrew Symonds has died in a car accident.
The Symonds car accident happened in Townsville, Queensland.
Symonds, who was the best all-rounder player in world cricket, played the first international match of his career against Pakistan in November 1998.
Symonds made his Test debut in March 2004 against Sri Lanka.
Andrew Symonds was a key part of Australia's 50-over World Cup victories in 2003 and 2007.
Symonds is also remembered for the infamous "Monkeygate" scandal.
Symonds cricket career
He has scored 5088 runs in 198 matches in ODIs and has also taken 133 wickets during this period.
Symonds played 26 matches in his Test career in which he scored 1462 runs and also took 24 wickets.
Symonds scored 11099 runs in 424 List A matches and also took 282 wickets.
2. India beats Indonesia 3-0 to win maiden Thomas Cup title

India's men's badminton team lifted the Thomas Cup title for the first time with a commanding 3-0 win over Indonesia on 15th May.
India won three straight matches, two men’s singles and a men’s doubles match to seal the championship.
With this win, India has become the sixth country to win the title.
India's Kidambi Srikanth defeated Indonesia's Leonardus Jonatan Christie in Thomas Cup Final 2022 by 21-15, 23-21, held in Bangkok.

Basketball player, LeBron James is at the second position with USD 121.2 million, while Cristiano Ronaldo is at the third position in the list with USD 115 million.
Estimates are calculated by Forbes based on prize money, salary and bonuses and sponsorship deals.
Virat Kohli is the only Indian player in this list who earned around Rs 262 crore last year, out of which Rs 22 crore has been earned from salary and the rest 240 crore from advertisements.

Recently, the logo, song, jersey and mascot of Khelo India Youth Games-2022 were launched by the Union Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Anurag Thakur in Panchkula, Haryana.
The mascot of Khelo India Youth Games-2022 will be in the form of a cow, which has been named 'Dhakad'.
About Khelo India Youth Games 2022
The fourth Khelo India Youth Games will be organised from June 4 to 13 at Tau Devilal Stadium in Panchkula, while some of its matches will also be held in Chandigarh.
For the first time, five traditional sports have been included in the fourth Khelo India Youth Games. These games include Gatka, Kalaripayattu, Thang-Ta, Malkhamb and Yoga.
Among them, Gatka, Kalaripayattu and Thang-Ta are traditional martial arts, while Mallakhamb and Yoga are fitness related sports.
This time the biggest ever contingent of 8500 players from across the country will participate in this event.
This time Khelo India Youth Games is being jointly organised by Haryana Government and Sports Authority of India (SAI), Union Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports.
This competition was started in 2018 in New Delhi under the name Khelo India School Games.
6. India's Dhanush Srikanth has won the gold medal in 24th Deaf Olympic Games
India's Dhanush Srikanth has won the gold medal in the men's 10m air rifle event at the 24th Deaf Olympic Games being held in Caxias do Sul, Brazil.
Dhanush scored 247.5 points while Korea's Kim Woo Rim got the silver medal with 246.6 points.
India's Shaurya Saini finished third with 224.3 points.
India has sent a 65-member team to this competition, which includes 10 shooters; these players will participate in 11 sports events.
In the last 2017 edition, India had won one gold, one silver and three bronze medals.
Currently, India is at the eighth position in the points table with two gold and one bronze medals.
Ukraine is at the first position with 19 gold, six silver and 13 bronze medals.

8. Harshada Sharad Garud first Indian to win gold medal at IWF Junior World Championships

In weightlifting, Harshada Sharad Garuda created history by becoming the first Indian to win a gold medal at the IWF Junior World Championships in Heraklion, Greece.
She lifted 153 kg in the 45 kg weight category, including 70 kg in snatch and 83 kg in clean and jerk, and topped the podium.
Garuda surpassed eight contestants as India won a medal on the first day of competition.
Turkey's Bektas Kansu won the silver medal, while Teodora-Luminita Hinku of Moldova won the bronze.
Another Indian in the same weight category, Anjali Patel, finished fifth with a total effort of 148kg, which included 67kg in snatch and 81kg in clean and jerk.
Prior to Harshada, there are only two Indians to have won a medal at the IWF Junior World Championships.
Mirabai Chanu won the bronze medal in 2013 and Achinta Shuli won the silver medal last year.
