1. India’s Praggnanandhaa and Nandhidhaa wins the Asian Continental Chess championship

Top seeded Indian Grandmaster R Praggnanandhaa and P V Nandhidhaa won the titles in the Open and women’s sections respectively in the Asian Continental Chess championship held in New Delhi.
The Asian Continental Chess Championship was held in New Delhi from 26 October to 3 November 2022.
R Praggnanandhaa remained unbeaten in the tournament and has also qualified for the FIDE World Chess cup to be held in 2023.
The international chess governing body FIDE has not yet announced the date and place of the World Chess Cup 2023.
2. Shubi Gupta, Charvi wins the U-12 and U-8 section title at the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship

India’s Shubi Gupta and A Charvi won the girls under-12 and under-8 sections respectively in the FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship .
The FIDE World Cadets Chess Championship was held in Batumi, Georgia from 16 September to 27 September 2022.
Medal winners of India
Under -12 Girls events
Shubhi Gupta, of Uttar Pradesh scored 8.5 points from 11 rounds to claim the gold medal in the under-12 event.
Under 8 Girls event
A.Charvi of Karnataka won the gold medal in the U-8 girls event with nine points
Under -8 boys events
Safin Safarullakhan of Kerala won the bronze medal in the under-8 boy category . The gold medal was won by France’s Marc Llari and the silver was won by Russian Sav Shogdzhiev Roman.
