Former Air Force Chief ‘RKS Bhadauria’ appointed as Chief Nodal Officer of Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor

The Government of India has appointed retired  Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria as the Chief Nodal officer to the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor(UPDIC). 

 Government of India in its budget 2018-19 , announced setting up of two Defence Industrial Corridors (DICs) in the country. 

One  will be set up in Tamil Nadu and the other will be set up in Uttar Pradesh .  Aligarh, Agra, Chitrakoot, Jhansi, Kanpur and Lucknow were identified for Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor(UPDIC) .

Similarly, five nodes, namely Chennai, Coimbatore, Hosur, Salem and Tiruchirappalli has been identified  for Tamil Nadu Defence Industrial Corridor (TNDIC) 

The State government will provide  necessary lands, connectivity and basic infrastructure for the Defence industrial Corridor .

The main aim of the DIC is to attract investment worth Rs. 10,000 Crore in each  project so as to give a boost  to the defence manufacturing ecosystem in both States and make India self-reliant in defence products.
