Union Jal Shakti Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat inaugurated the Geo Smart India 2022 Summit in Hyderabad on 15 November, 2022.

He said the country is leading the way in socio-economic prosperity driven by state-of-the-art technology and innovation.
He said the country is moving towards an era of sustainable development from the grassroots level and aims to eradicate poverty, combat climate change and improve business and living standards.
He said that the government has issued guidelines to pave the way for the use of geospatial data in various sectors of the economy.
He said that the country is facing a severe water crisis which is becoming an important issue and the government has taken several steps to solve the issue.
The three-day summit was attended by around 2500 delegates from around 500 government, private, organisations working on geospatial technology and so on.
