World Oral Health Day is observed globally on 20 March every year to raise awareness about the importance of oral health.
An Overview of the News
It aims to encourage and sensitise individuals to adopt good oral hygiene practices, take care of their teeth and learn how to prevent dental problems.
The theme of 2023 is 'Be Proud of Your Mouth', this theme has been used for the last three years and this campaign was started in 2021 by FDI.
According to a WHO Global Oral Health report, 514 million children in the world suffer from caries in primary teeth and about 75% of the population suffers from permanent tooth decay.
