The Government of India has decided that this year on, Republic Day celebrations will begin from January 23, in order to include Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birth anniversary.
The first foreign Guest at Republic Day was Indonesia President Sukarno in 1950.
There were no foreign chief guests in the years 1952, 1953, 1966, 2021, 2022.
